Rihanna Sends Strong Message in ‘Man Down’ Video

After flirting with Drake (“What’s My Name?”) and spicing up the bedroom (“S&M”), Rihanna is getting serious with her latest video for “Man Down.”
The clip for the reggae-infused song, co-written by fellow Bajan Shontelle, contains a compelling message for women. “Very strong underlying message 4 girls like me! #listentoyomama,” explained RiRi.
The Barbados beauty flew to Jamaica last month to shoot the visuals with director Anthony Mandler (“Only Girl”), filming scenes on the beach and in Portland, a parish on the island’s northeast coast.
The video for “Man Down,” the fifth release from last year’s Loud, is set to premiere Tuesday on BET’s “106 & Park.”

This Memorial Day Weekend Rihanna went shopping for a new tattoo while Ciara performed in Zimbabwe for the first time. Find out more about what these ladies did over the weekend inside….
Though she already has 14-tattoos on various parts of her body, Rihanna was seen making a trip to a tattoo shop in NYC yesterday. And though it wasn’t confirmed what she did once inside, sources speculate that she was looking for new ideas for a possible tattoo.
She wore a long black dress with a thigh-high split that she paired with black sneakers and a denim Prada bag.
If she did get some work done, I’m sure we will see it on Twitter soon. And speaking of Twitter, RiRi recently tweeted about the video premiere of "Man Down" on "106 & Park" tomorrow saying,
"ManDownTOMORROW on @BET @106andpark its #Gritty #GULLY #Emotional #JAMRock Very strong underlying message 4 girls like me! #listentoyomama"
Yesterday, Rihanna also tweeted a picture of herself saying "Touch ups… Ariel style", as her long red tresses were inspired by The Little Mermaid.
And over in Zimbabwe…..

Ciara made her debut appearance in Zimbabwe this Memorial Day Weekend.
She performed in the city of Harare for ZarFest 2011.
And while overseas, she made a funny video impersonating one of her favorite characters.
On her Facebook page she wrote,
"Hey guys, I was a little nervous to share this, but for u guys, why not? I’m so in love with the Dragon Fly Jones character from my favorite tv show of all time, Martin! I’m in South Africa and having a blast! Here’s a clip of me riding with Yolanda headed to sound check, she plays Kenji. His obedient servant."

Nick Cannon aims for the laughs with the parody video for “Famous,” the Akon-assisted single from his forthcoming album. The comedian-rapper imitates icons including Michael Jackson, KISS’ Gene Simmons, Fred Astaire, and MC Hammer, as well as those with fleeting fame such as “Bed Intruder” Antoine Dodson and “Golden Voice” Ted Williams.
“I always say, everybody in a nightclub is famous. Everybody getting their shine on, everybody ballin’,” Nick tells Rap-Up.com. “It’s one of those songs that when it comes on, you can dance like you famous, drink like you famous, party like you famous.”
