Following up on November’s release of an OG Nike Air Max Penny 1, Nike will drop another colorway of the classic Pennys in a new hue: University Red. Laced up on court by Tony Wroten of the 76ers last week, the “University Red” colorway of the Penny 1 will release on Black Friday. Cloaked in a very simple University Red/White-Black colorway, this Penny 1 features nubuck overlays on the upper – interrupted by the large midsole design that contains the stylized Nike Swoosh logo. Penny Hardaway’s 1 cent logo appears on the heel.
The Nike Air Penny 1 will release on Friday, November 28th, at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker, and Footlocker.com (starting at 8:00 a.m. EST) for $ 140. Kids sizes will also be available. Check the Launch Locator to see if a store near you will be carrying the release.
The “University Red” colorway is the latest colorway to join the Kobe 9 line, which has been nothing short of amazing since it’s debut earlier this year. The “University Red” colorway features a predominantly red flyknit upper that includes hints of mint accents on the heel, speckled laces, and speckled midsole, as well as a glow in the dark Nike Swoosh design. Black around the shoe on parts of the upper, outsole, and sock liner make the release clean, simple, and sophisticated. Because it is an Elite release, premium materials in addition to the Flyknit upper are used including tumbled leather on the heel and tongue and carbonfiber in the midsole. Flywire and Lunarlon – two of Nike’s premier technologies – are also incorporated into the release.

Last season, the Lil Penny Posite brought a pint-sized legend back to life. This season, the legend continues to grow with a new colorway, inspired by LP’s brief but beautiful stay in Miami.
The Lil Penny Posite design builds upon blocks of Penny’s past, notably elements of the Air Zoom Rookie and the Nike Air Up, as a symbolic follow up to the Nike Air ½ Cent. A decoupled Posite upper retains iconic styling while affording more flexibility, a change of pace from Posites of the past.
Featuring a full-length Nike Lunar midsole and Zoom cushioning in the heel, the Lil Penny Posite employs the latest cushioning technologies, from the bottom up. Molded wings on the shoe’s quarter add a modern sensibility while vintage Flight and 1 Cent insignia keep the design true to its lineage.
The Nike Lil’ Penny Posite “University Red” drops this Saturday, July 12th at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker and Footlocker.com (starting at 8:00 a.m. EDT) for $ 180. Check the Launch Locator to see which stores will have this release.
This pair of the Nike LeBron 11 Low arrives in a University Red and Obsidian colorway, just in time for the 4th of July and the World Cup. Serving as the “Independence Day” edition, the sneaker features a red-based upper with blue and white accents. The shoe’s upper is cloaked in a metallic-finished red, while navy is used as a contrasting color on the midsole, heel-counter and inner-lining. To round out the palette, white appears on the outsole and Swoosh. All-in-all, this LeBron Low feels patriotic and stylishly Americana.
