Love & Hip Hop New York Stars Revolt, Demand More Money

Seems like there is trouble in the reality TV paradise that is Love & Hip Hop New York. Reportedly half the cast didn’t show up to a scheduled event because they wanted to renegotiate their contracts, then the other half that did caught feelings because they want more loot, too.
Reports TMZ:
Big trouble on the set of VH1′s “Love & Hip Hop, New York” … TMZ has learned, the stars of the show are refusing to go to work … and it’s all because they think they’re getting shafted in contract negotiations.
Sources close to the show tell us, all cast members were supposed to be present Tuesday in NYC to film a trailer for the upcoming season, but only half of the cast showed up. The other half stayed home in protest because negotiations for their new contracts had gone sour.
We’re told the half that did show up then got upset … believing they too were entitled to revised contracts … and stormed off.
We’re told most of the cast members want more money — as much as double their last contract — but there are other problems too … some are pissed at how they were portrayed last season and they want more say in what footage gets aired.
We’re told emergency meetings have since been called with the angry cast members … and they’re hoping to get what they want by the end of the week.
If they don’t … we’re told the cast members plan to stick to their guns and continue their strike for as long as necessary. We reached out to VH1 for comment — so far, no word back.
Situations like these occur on just about any successful reality series. However, not every cast member has the leverage to demand more money. For example, Joe Budden and Tahiry Jose should be good money. But squeaky third wheel, and Joe’s ex, Kaylin Garcia…not so much.
As for input on how their footage is edited; good luck with that.

Kanye West Stars in ‘SNL’ Finale Promo

Kanye West will join the five timers’ club, performing on the season finale of “Saturday Night Live” tomorrow. Sporting a Band-Aid from his recent run-in with a pole, the G.O.O.D. Music rapper appears alongside host Ben Affleck and cast member Fred Armisen in a promo for this weekend’s show.
‘Ye is expected to debut new material off his upcoming album, which is rumored to be released on June 18. He performed a new Auto-Tuned song, with the possible title “Awesome,” at the Adult Swim Upfront Party on Thursday.
The father-to-be is also rumored to be launching a tour in October in support of his album. TMZ reports that Kim Kardashian and their baby will be joining him on the road.

Kanye West Stars With Ben Affleck In Saturday Night Live Promo [VIDEO]

Kanye West will be appearing on Saturday Night Live as its musical guest this weekend. It happens to SNL‘s season finale and here we have a promo starring Yeezy, Ben Affleck, who is the episode’s host, and cast member Fred Armisen.
The clips consists of three “takes,” with Armisen general showing a funny lack of chill. West pretty much plays it straight, telling Armisen not to beatbox and asking him what awards he has won.
During his latest rant at the Adult Swim Upfronts party, West was adamant that he would not be in any SNL skits. Nevertheless, the promo show that he does have a sense of humor because in the first take he is seen with a band-aid on his forehead. Late last week, while trying to duck paparazzi taking photographs of him and Kim Kardashian going to lunch, he slammed his head into a parking sign. Pictures the next day showed that he had a bump on his forehead.
Tune into NBC at 11:30 p.m. ET this Saturday (May 18) to catch West on SNL.
Kendrick Lamar Stars In Episode 2 Of J. Cole’s Born Sinner Series [VIDEO & PHOTOS]

Last week J. Cole launched BornSinner.com to house personal selected content each week leading up to the release of Born Sinner, due out June 25. After honoring his recently retired mother in the inaugural episode of the Born Sinner vlog series, the Roc Nation artist returns with this week’s installment featuring a friend and fellow prolific lyricist in Kendrick Lamar.
The Compton MC narrates his story using fond memories of being a good kid in a mad city as source material, and drops a few gems in the process. A slideshow of candid photos capturing Lamar performing and getting his mind right prior to taking the stage can be seen as he speaks.
One highlight in Lamar’s tale detailed a conversation with a friend, who told him it would be a sin if he took the “easy way out” and decided not to speak for a greater purpose. The “B**ch Don’t Kill My Vibe” spitter understood, saying ”Everybody can rap, but only a few get in these positions when they can really speak to a generation of people. When I listen to people like Cole, it’s that gift.”
Fans can expect BornSinner.com to feature more individuals who were not only instrumental to the “Power Trip” rapper’s forthcoming LP, but to his life. See Lamar speak in depth below.

Before Beyoncé became his wife, the most important Mrs. Carter in Jay-Z’s life was his mother, Gloria. As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we take a look at some of the strong and inspiring women who raised today’s hip-hop moguls, Grammy-winning divas, and teen idols.
J. Cole’s mom held down a job at the post office to afford him an education, Ashanti, Chrisette Michele, and Christina Milian’s mothers also act as their managers, and Mariah’s opera singer mom passed on her multi-octave pipes.
In honor of the holiday, Rihanna shouted out the leading lady in her life. “Happy Mother’s Day beautiful!! What a lucky little bitch I am to have come from you!” the “Pour It Up” singer told Mama Fenty. “I am who I am because that’s all I’ve known!! Thank you for all that you’ve endured to make sure I got here, with a smile!! I could never repay you, you’re PRICELESS!!! My gem!!!”
RiRi’s on-again, off-again boyfriend Chris Brown also saluted his mother, who’s been there through the ups and downs. “I wanna praise the woman who created me! ‘Momma Joyce’ happy Mother’s Day . Thank u for always letting me be creative and dream!Love you mom,” tweeted Breezy.

2 Chainz Guest Stars on ‘Law & Order: SVU’

2 Chainz has been bitten by the acting bug. After making his comedic debut on “2 Broke Girls,” the “I’m Different” rapper showed a more serious side during his guest role on NBC’s crime drama “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
Tauheed Epps played a sniper named Calvin “Pearlie” Jones, who is linked to a cop killer. Ice-T and Mariska Hargitay question him at a lounge, where is getting a massage. They plant a gun to get him to talk, but he won’t snitch out of fear.

On Wednesday, Phaedra said a sweet southern HELLO to her newest baby boy! The "RHOA" star gave birth in Atlanta yesterday and, as our alleges tells us, she sold the exclusive announcement to Us Weekly.
The magazine reports that "a source" confirmed to them, "Mom and baby are doing great."
2-year-old Ayden–who is ridiculously and utterly the cutest thing ever–is officially a big brother. And the couple, who have been married for 3 and a half years, said previously they would like to have 3 kids. They’re well on their way..
Yesterday, Pha Pha posted a pic with her hubby and Pastor Greg Pollard saying she received an early baby blessing.

Emeli Sandé and Jason Derulo Perform on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Emeli Sandé and Jason Derulo put on their dancing shoes and hit the ballroom on “Dancing with the Stars.” The blonde British sensation, who just broke a chart record set by The Beatles in the U.K., performed her single “Next to Me” as a couple of professional dancers moved to her rhythm.
Jason Derulo took over the dance floor with his new single “The Other Side,” working up a sweat as he and his dancers busted out some intense choreography. The performance earned praise from his girlfriend Jordin Sparks.
“AHHHHHH! My baby killed it on DWTS!! So proud of you @jasonderulo!!! I love you!” she tweeted.

Also, the "Scandal" actress, who turned heads at the 2013 Met Ball last night, commented on her red carpet process and the village of fashionable people it takes to help her create memorable looks. Here are the highlights:
On her current success: "I’m the luckiest broad in Hollywood now. To be the lead actor on Scandal and to be in the highest-earning Tarantino movie- I don’t get to ask for more.
When asked if as a girl she thought she’d ever consider modeling or becoming a film actress: "I was not that girl. I was a kooky theater kid, silly and goofy and academic."
On getting red-carpet ready: "I found out I enjoy the process. All these people show up at my house, they all have kits, someone has dresses. And it’s like, Let’s have fun. It’s not all about me. We’re able to create stories on the red carpet."
On the career Washington thought she’d pursue: "I imagined I’d be a clinical psychologist, with a focus on how performance shapes identity. I’d figure out ways to use role-playing in the healing of people."

Actress Rochelle Aytes, who’s playing the role of Pebbles in the VH1 flim “Crazy, Sexy Cool: The TLC Story,", is set to star in ABC’s upcoming summer series "The Mistresses". Also starring Alyssa Milano, the series tells the story of four friends, each on her own path to self-discovery. Rochelle plays April, a woman who’s looking to start over after the death of her husband.
