If the return of an OG classic is cause for a celebration, then consider this weekend a party. On Friday, the Nike Air Max Penny 1 “All Star” will be taking its rightful place on our walls and your feet. The “All Star” Penny 1, officially a Black/White-Game Royal-Metallic Silver colorway, was first introduced in 1996 by Penny Hardaway at the All Star Game in San Antonio. The shoe sports a black nubuck upper with royal piping between overlays. The stylized metallic silver Nike swoosh logo sits prominently in the middle of the upper within an extended section of the midsole.
The Nike Air Max Penny 1 “All Star” releases on Friday, October 24, at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker, and Footlocker.com (starting at 8:00 a.m. EDT) for $ 140. Kids grade school sizes will also be available. Check out the Launch Locator to see which stores will have this release.
Converse and Wiz Khalifa are back on the colloboration grind for year two of Converse’s deal with the Pittsburgh based rapper and leader of his own Taylor Gang record label. Wiz’s first round of Converse releases last year resulted in 12 new styles for the brand. This year the collaborators put their creativity into two premium releases, one black and one white, of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ILL by Wiz Khalifa.
The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ILL by Wiz Khalifa incorporates several distinct accents including the Wiz Khalifa branded logo tab and eyelet, while staying true to the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette. The sneakers also feature a leather upper with an oversized Chuck Taylor logo on the medial side. Available in black and white, the black style features a translucent outsole with gold fleck detailing.
“I am very excited about continuing my relationship with Converse and releasing this new sneaker collection,” says Wiz Khalifa. “We spent a lot of time designing each part of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ILL and the end result is exactly what I wanted.”
The Converse by Wiz Khalifa collection is available at select Foot Locker stores now. Each pair costs $ 70 and is also available on Footlocker.com. Want to pick up a pair in-store? Check the Launch Locator to see if a store near you is carrying them.
We’re still in a stupor from the festivities of last weekend in New Orleans… it was memorable to say the least! From experiencing immersive retail locations to styling NBA Stars with Rachel Johnson, we’re going to chalk it up as a “W”. After looking through all of the footage we shot, we decided to relive it one more time for the books. Enjoy the video recap that we put together for an overhead view of Footaction’s 2014 NBA All Star Weekend.
Paul George, now in his 4th year in the league, is dubbed an NBA superstar by many of his peers. In the 2013 playoffs, George made that clear with a tough 7 game series against the Miami Heat. Averaging over 19 points a game, George went toe-to-toe against LeBron James whom many believe is the best player in the NBA. When George first came into the league he was only classified for his high flying dunks, but over the years it really showed he had his mindset to be the best in the league: developing an overall game of being able to shoot from virtually anywhere while still flying over the opposition while finishing strong at the rim.
This past weekend against the Los Angeles Clippers, Paul George threw down a 360 windmill dunk which echoed Vince Carter’s dunk in the 2000 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. The major difference is that George was on a fast break in an actual game. If George isn’t high on your radar yet, you should sit and watch the Pacers again soon.
