COUPLEDOM: Actress LisaRaye Reportedly DATING Bishop Noel Jones, FEATURED On New “Pastors Of LA” Reality Show
May 21st

After a very nasty divorce a few years ago, actress LisaRaye McCoy has apparently landed a man of the cloth in Bishop Noel Jones. Get the deets on them courtship inside….
"Single Ladies" star LisaRaye McCoy, who rose to fame as a stripper named Diamond in "The Player’s Club", has landed herself a pastor! According to AlwaysAList.com, LisaRaye is dating Bishop Noel Jones.
Oh, but there’s more.
Though you’d have a hard time coming across "sightings" of the couple (they’re keeping the relationship under tight wraps), it’s been revealed that the couple’s relationship is one of the storylines of the upcoming Oxygen reality series "Pastors of LA".
A synopis of the show, produced by L. Plummer Media in association with Relevé Entertainment, reads:
"Pastors of L.A.’ will give viewers a candid and revealing look at six boldly different and world renowned mega-pastors in Southern California, who are willing to share diverse aspects of their lives, from their work in the community and with their parishioners to the very large and sometimes provocative lives they lead away from the pulpit.”
Do we REALLY need this reality show? Really?
A source who saw the pilot described an interesting scene between the couple where Noel took issue with some of LisaRaye’s attire. “He basically told her that he wasn’t sure she was ‘Godly enough’ for his world, and she in turn told him he may not be ‘worldly enough’ for hers”.

Oh, I wonder if he means her recent bathroom bikini pics from last week (above)…or any of her backshots from KING, Black Men, the list goes on…
The show will also star other Los Angeles-based pastors including Bishop Clarence McClendon, Pastor Wayne Chaney, Bishop Ron Gibson, Pastor Jay Haizlip, and gospel singer Deitrick Haddon.
For those unfamiliar with Noel Jones, he’s the brother of the iconic Grace Jones. And that got us wondering, if Noel and LisaRaye ever got married…

Following Pusha’s set, Loso brought out Cassie and Trey Songz for the remix to “Diced Pineapples,” which appears on his mixtape Soul Tape 2. He was later joined onstage by The-Dream for “Throw It in the Bag” and the remix.
He explained the true meaning of the song. “‘Throw It in the Bag’ wasn’t about trickin’ on no hos. Fuck them hos,” said the Brooklyn MC. “It was about making sure you take care of your lady. If that’s your lady, make sure you take care of her ’cause I promise you if you won’t, somebody else will.”

”I Am Disappointed…”
Icelene Jones, the widow of late Wu-Tang Clan member Ol’ Dirty Bastard, does not approve of her husband’s likeness being used in an upcoming Wu show at Rock the Bells this summer. Representing the state of ODB, born Russell Jones, Icelene has filed a cease-and-desist order against the festival. “I am disappointed that Rock the Bells would not contact me directly about the use of my husband’s image,” she said via statement. “I am looking forward to talking to Wu-Tang about this matter and coming up with a positive solution in order to bring my husband’s image to the stage once again.” Jones made it clear that she’s the sole controller of her husband’s estate, so no one can use his likeness or his music without her permission. |
RAPPERS’ DELIGHT: Kanye Performs New Track “Awesome” & RANTS At Surprise NYC Show + Drake (& His OVO Fest), Khaled, Swizz & More Shoot “No New Friends” Video
May 17th

Kanye West returned to NYC yesterday to give a secret concert last night at the Adult Swim network Upfronts. And, once again, he performed his new track "Awesome" and dedicated it to his baby moms Kim Kardashian. And he also did a surprise listening session (pictured above) in the City last night.
We’ve got pics and video, plus Khaled, Drake and more on the set of their "No New Friends" video…
Before heading backstage or elsewhere in the city (we can’t tell) to preview his music for a room full of folks, Kanye West took the stage at the Roseland Ballroom during the Adult Swim Upfronts (like he did 5 years ago as well) to rock out. Kanye style.

This means a performance, inside of a pyramid, of his new song "Awesome" no one knows (and it seems no one is really feeling) complete with interstitial rants about the paparazzi. He must still be mad about walking head first into that steel pole in front of them.
Check out video of his rant below. He said he’s "not apologizing to no muthaf*ckers" and he’s not a celebrity. This guy is hilar:
And videos of his performances of "Awesome" and "Yeezy Season":
Kanye’s set to perform on the "SNL" season finale this Saturday, May 18th.
In other rap news:

DJ Khaled got all his homies together to shoot the video for "No New Friends" off his upcoming Suffering From Success album. The DJ–who rarely ever does anything more than scream out "We The Best" on every track–brought in Drake (who appears on the song), Birdman, Ace Hood & Swizz Beatz to shoot the vid.
Everyone else was just there to make a cameo and to drink up:

Rick Ross is on the track and showed up to shoot the vid of course. Looks like Ricky’s getting a beard shapeup….
By the way, Drake announced today that the 4th annual hip hop summer festival OVO FEST will for the first time span two days and take place August 4th and 5th at Toronto’s Molson Canadian Amphitheatre.
The T.Dot native sent out a press release about his festival:
Tickets to OVO FEST go on sale May 24th at 10:00AM EDT and will be available as a two day festival pass, with a limited number of lawn seats available as single day passes. Night one of OVO FEST will feature a headlining performance by rising star Frank Ocean with special guests including James Blake. Night two will be headlined by Drake and feature other artists to be announced. OVO FEST, which last year sold out in seven minutes, will once again see Drake bring hip hop’s most buzzed about artists to his hometown in advance of his upcoming album NOTHING WAS THE SAME.
Nice.

”I Ain’t No Motherf**king Celebrity…”
Kanye West took the stage at Adult Swim’s Upfront party last night (May 15th) and revealed two new, unreleased songs at an invite-only show in Manhattan, New York’s Roseland Ballroom. Performing inside of a three dimensional pyramid-shaped screen, West also decided to take some shots at the paparazzi, who have been hounding him and his girlfriend Kim Kardashian incessantly. “Iâm the worst kind of celebrity because all I do is make real music. All I do is sit in the studio and make real, real sh*t. and thatâs it,” West said during his set. “Thatâs motherf**king it. So I donât want nobody trying to run up on me with no cameras, trying to sell pictures and sh*t to magazines, asking me no dumbass questions, throwing me off of my focus and sh*t, harassing you all motherf**king day. I ainât no motherf**king celebrity.” “At what point did I become unhuman where I had to turn myself back? Or maybe i was demonised. Or maybe I was treated inhumane and not human in that kind of situation. I ainât no motherf**king celebrity,” he continued. “I ainât running for office. I ainât kissing nobodyâs motherf**king babies. I drop your baby and you sue me and sh*t. Iâm trying to make some music that inspires people to be the best they can be. I donât want nobody to ask nothing else of me. Donât ask nothing else of me.” He also fired a shot at “SNL,” which is due to have West perform as musical guest this weekend. “Hell nah I ainât doing no mothaf**king ‘SNL’ skits. This my g*ddamn life,” he confirmed. “This ainât no motherf**king joke. Thatâs it. Stop that sh*t right there.â |
Kanye West Sticks To Music-And-Rant Format At NYC Show
May 16th

By Sowmya Krishnamurthy
Kanye West wants you to know that he’s no celebrity. The rapper/producer went on another epic rant last night at the Adult Swim Upfront party in NYC in which he blasted the paparazzi for hounding him down. “I ain’t no mother—-ing celebrity!” he shouted throughout the tirade.
“One thing about me, I’m the worst kinda … celebrity because all I do is make real music. All I do is sit in the studio and make real, real sh–. And that’s it,” he said, half-singing. “That’s mother—-ing it. That’s mother—-ing it. So I don’t want nobody trying to run up on me with no cameras, trying to sell pictures and sh– to magazines, asking me no dumbass questions, throwing me off of my focus and sh–,” he said. “Harassing you all mother—-ing day. I ain’t no mother—-ing celebrity.”
Ye continued, trying to show the audience how normal and human he was. “I ain’t no mother—ing celebrity. I ain’t running for office. I ain’t kissing nobody’s mother—-ing babies. I drop your baby and you sue me and sh–,” he shouted. “I’m trying to make some music that inspires people to be the best they can be. I don’t want nobody to ask nothing else of me. Don’t ask nothing else of me. Mother—-ers chasing you down, ’bout to make you crash and sh–, and all they want is one n—a to laugh and sh–,” West said. “Hell nah, I ain’t doing no mother—-ing ‘SNL’ skits; this my goddamn life. This ain’t no mother—-ing joke. That’s it. Stop that sh– right there.”
Kanye’s literal run-in with the paparazzi recently may have sparked this rant. Ye and Kim Kardashian were confronted by photogs in LA and the producer ended up walking into a “Wrong Way” sign.
Speaking of his better half, ‘Ye also reportedly performed “Awesome” (also dubbed “So Awesome” by some outlets) a song many say is dedicated to his baby mama Kim. (http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/the-juice/1562667/kanye-west-aint-no-muthaf-in-celebrity-at-adult-swim-upfront). Billboard shared some lyrics of the track: “Cause baby you’re awesome / you don’t need to listen to your manager. I know you just be tired from running through my mind / can I come inside? / Cuz baby you’re awesome / And I’m also awesome.”
