Nike KD7 “Good Apples”
Oct 1st
The much anticipated Nike KD7 “Good Apples” will be hitting stores this weekend and it’s a great looking colorway with an interesting story behind it. As the release’s nickname would imply, these kicks are inspired by apples. Kevin Durant, the shoe’s namesake, compares a basketball court to an apple orchard and shots to apples. He takes only the good shots/apples and leaves the bad ones. Given that Durant has won the NBA scoring title four out of the last five years, we would tend to give KD’s metaphor the benefit of the doubt. A mostly black upper is hit with Action Red (red apples) and Medium Mint (green apples) accents all around.
Via Nike:
The reigning MVP tailors his shooting drills around numerical imbalances and efficiency, with a philosophy based on prioritizing. This approach has become a fun competition within the game for Durant. “Let’s say you have 40 apples on your tree,” says Durant. “I could eat about 30 of them, but I’ve begun limiting myself to 15 or 16. Let’s take the wide-open three and post-up at the nail. Those are good apples. Let’s throw out the pull-up three in transition and the step-back fade away. Those are rotten apples.”
The Nike KD7 “Good Apples” drops on Saturday, October 4th, for $ 150 at House of Hoops by Foot Locker and Footlocker.com (starting at 8am EDT). Check out the Launch Locator to see if a location near you will be carrying the “Good Apples.” The release will also be available in kids grade school sizes.
Nike Kobe 9 Low “Dusty Cactus”
Oct 1st
The newest addition to the Kobe IX line that has been blazing hot this year is the Nike Kobe 9 Low “Dusty Cactus.” Debuting a brand new Nike colorway, Dusty Cactus is closest to a robin’s egg blue and is featured perfectly on this great Dusty Cactus-White-Action Red colorway. The upper features a completely Dusty Cactus engineered mesh upper with white and red taking care of the accenting. A new feature on this Kobe 9 is the addition of a new tongue patch that includes the shozoku Kobe brand logo, five stars to commemorate his five titles, and an image of a black snake. You can see a detailed image of the new tongue patch below.
The Nike Kobe 9 Low “Dusty Cactus” drops on Friday, October 3rd at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker, and online at Footlocker.com for $ 160.
Nike Kobe 9 EM Dusty Cactus
Sep 30th
The Nike Kobe 9 EM arrives in a new “Dusty Cactus” colorway that takes up a majority of the upper. Red is seen on the Flywire while White takes up the swoosh, laces and midsole. The upper consists of Engineered Mesh and the tongue tag reads “Black Mamba” instead of the usual Shizoku logo. The low-cut sneaker is clean overall with considerable differences from the usual Kobe 9 EM drops to make this one more special.
Available online only Friday.
Nike Air Flightposite 2014 ‘Copper’
Sep 27th
The Nike Air Flightposite 2014 “Copper” gives a nod to the 90′s as the resurgence of sneakers from the decade continue to make their way in stores as reborn models. The Nike Air Flightposite was one of the sneakers that symbolized a change in tide for Nike Basketball footwear. It was an experiment in style and innovation that teeters the line between street and tech. To this day, its bold nature solidifies its spot in our minds. This Saturday, the Air Flightposite returns in a Copper and Black colorway that is certainly eye-catching. Cap it off with an icy blue outsole and you’ve got yourself another classic on the shelves.
Available in stores and online Saturday. Check out Release Locator for stores.
Nike LeBron Zoom Soldier VIII “Kay Yow”
Sep 26th
Last week we showed you the “Kay Yow” basketball pack that included a Hyperdunk 2014 and a Run The One. Tomorrow, a third pair of kicks will join the collection: the Nike LeBron Zoom Soldier VIII. Cloaked in a Pinkfire II/White-Black-Hyper Pink colorway, the “Kay Yow” Soldier 8 was first featured on court by WNBA star Elena Delle Donne of the Chicago Sky in August. Available to the public on Saturday, September 27, this Soldier 8 features a preodminantly pink upper and outsole and the Kay Yow Fund logo on the heel. Black co-stars as a secondary color on the ankle strap, midsole, toe and heel to contrast the eye popping pink.
The Nike LeBron Zoom Soldier VIII “Kay Yow” releases tomorrow, Saturday, September 27th, at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker, and online at Footlocker.com for $ 130.
Nike KD VII NSW Lifestyle
Sep 25th
The Nike KD VII NSW Lifestyle features an intricate overlay pattern, premium materials and varying shades of brown to create a shoe that’s street ready. The moccasin-like upper is built with a Tan suede base finished with Bright Mango inner liners and Blue detailing found on the tongues, heel tab and insole. With that said, it’s apparent that this pair breaks far from the current Durant silhouette in terms of design and we’re not complaining about the change of pace. A full translucent outsole caps off the shoe.
Available in stores and online Friday. Check out Release Locator for stores.
Nike Air Trainer Huarache Premium Emerald
Sep 24th
The Nike Huarache platform was one of Nike’s earliest attempts to give athletes exactly what they need to perform and nothing more. Designed under the lens of reduction, and continually improving on that mentality over the years, the minimalist approach inspired a new generation of footwear designers that believe in stripping products to the necessary components for elite performance. Twenty-three years after the debut of the Air Huarache, Nike Sportswear set out to create a cross-training version of the sneaker. The OG colorway of the Nike Air Trainer Huarache features a white leather base with accents in Dark Emerald, Black and Medium Berry throughout, including the berry-colored translucent midfoot strap.
Available in select stores and online Saturday. Check out Release Locator for stores.
