IRS Files $3.4 Million Tax Lien on Mary J. Blige
May 20th

By Maurice Bobb
The Internal Revenue Service wants to know “What’s the 411?” on Mary J. Blige not paying her taxes. According to TMZ, the R&B Queen owes ,426,255.43 to Uncle Sam for unpaid income taxes for the years 2009, 2010 and 2011.
Records show that the IRS officially filed a federal tax lien in February in Bergen County Court against the My Life singer, adding to her already substantial financial woes, which include 1,769.65 in back taxes owed to the state of New Jersey and lawsuits: one against her charity, The Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now, for failing to pay back a 0,000 loan and another by Signature Bank for defaulting on a .2 million loan.
If that weren’t enough, the nine-time Grammy Award winner was also sued in New York state supreme court by Bank of America, who allege that the Bronx-born chanteuse took out a 0,000 loan and only paid a portion of it back. The bank is seeking 4,000, which is the total amount of the unpaid principal of the loan plus interest.
Mary has yet to comment on her latest tales of monetary woe, but last year, she blamed her charity’s pecuniary issues on the staff.
“The problem is that I didn’t have the right people in the right places doing the right things,” Mary said last May.

May 20th

Mary J. Blige has a steep hill to climb when it comes to fixing her messy finances. Get the deets on her .4 million tax lien and a recap of her other money woes inside…
Fans of Mary J. Blige may be getting a really GOOD album in the future, because the "411" is there’s more "Drama" in the "Life" of "Mary". You like that good wordage huh?
You’ll recall that folks have been concerned about Mary’s finances for many many years. First, we had reports that her charitable organization FFAWN (Foundation For The Advancement Of Women Now, Inc.) failed to make good on a few loans, and then we heard rumors that MJB was falling behind on her rent in NYC. Now…we’re getting the full story on what she owes Uncle Sam. Here come the Growing Pains: TMZ reports that she owes for the years 2009 (4,907.30), 2010 (,203,743.53) and 2011 (7,604.60) totaling .4 million!
To pay off that bill, the Queen of Soul will need The Breakthrough. And don’t forget, she still owes 1,769.65 in back taxes to the state of New Jersey and she allegedly defaulted on a .2 million bank loan! Hmm…it might be time for a new collection of Bad Boy remixes. Lawd Mary!
The Randomness:
1. Sinbad files for bankruptcy….again! Story.
Mary J. Blige Slapped With $3.4 Million Tax Lien
May 20th
Mary J. Blige has held the Queen of Hip-Hop R&B title for too long, and sold too many albums, to be having financial problems like these. The “Be Happy” singer has been hit with a .4 million dollar federal tax lien.
TMZ reports:
Mary J. Blige’s financial woes have QUADRUPLED — on top of the 0k she allegedly owes the Garden State, TMZ has learned MJB has been slapped with a .4 MILLION bill from Uncle Sam.
The IRS filed a federal tax lien against the Grammy winner, claiming she failed to pay all her income taxes for the years 2009 (4,907.30), 2010 (,203,743.53) and 2011 (7,604.60).
Tax bill grand total: ,426,255.43. Translation: A LOT OF FREAKING MONEY.
Of course, the IRS needs to get in line … the State of NJ says MJB still owes 1,769.65 in back taxes. Blige is being sued for allegedly defaulting on a .2 million bank loan and her charity is facing a lawsuit that claims it took out a 0k loan and never paid it back.
We reached out to Mary’s team for comment — so far nada. We also alerted them to TurboTax.
Blige was hit with the 0K tax bill from New Jersey in February.
Whatever you do Mary, don’t blame your tax troubles on slavery. That didn’t work out too well for Lauryn Hill.

Iggy Azalea Plays ‘Mary, F—, Kill’ On ‘Week In Jams’
Mar 1st
By Victoria McCarthy
Iggy Azalea will appear on this Sunday’s episode of MTV2′s “Week in Jams,” and guest host Po Johnson played a round of “Marry, F—, Kill” with the Aussie native, who will release her debut album The New Classic later this year. Her choices: Charlie Sheen, Justin Bieber, and Jams’ own Charlamagne Tha God.
After some playful banter, Charlamagne and Iggy decided that they were best off as f— buddies, leaving it at that. “I like you, so I’ll f— you,” Iggy told, “but I won’t be with you forever.” To which Charlamagne cheekily replied, “And I’ll appreciate the favor.”
Now left with the excruciating choice of who to marry and who to kill between Charlie Sheen and the Biebs, Iggy looked to that factor which guarantees a relationships success: money. “You think Charlie Sheen is richer? Alright f— it I’m marrying him… Kill Bieber.”
Tune into The Week In Jams at 11PM ET on MTV2, Sunday night.
VIDEOS: First Look At Gabby Union’s “Being Mary Jane” + Miguel’s “Candles In The Sun” Video
Feb 20th

We finally get to see Gabrielle Union in action in her brand new BET project, "Being Mary Jane." Check out the super quick promo inside, plus Miguel‘s new socially conscious video for "Candles In The Sun."
It’s almost here. The Akil‘s newest BET creation starring Gabby Union is on its way.
Gabby told the media at a promo shoot months ago:
"Being Mary Jane" is basically about a television host, who has her own show, and how she balances her life. Between wanting to talk about hard hitting news and other stories, she shuffles through her own personal morals. It’s about her trying to stand up for what she believes in but also keeping her ratings. She also struggles with the idea of being raised with the same morals, values and opportunities, throughout her family and being the only one to make it. How does that change the family dynamic? Her family comes from the upper-middle class, but she is the only one out of her siblings that is doing well. Her lack of a love life and the poor choices that she has made are also explored.
Tika Sumpter, Omari Hardwick and plenty more also co-star in the pilot movie (that will possibly turn into a series). We hear from those who attended the screening that it’s great!

And in music videos:
"Adron" singer Miguel just dropped another video from his most recent album, Kaleidoscope Dream. For his "Candles In the Sun" visuals, Miguel takes a look social, religous and political issues and expresses his thoughts in his own way.
About his bold black & white video directed by Sarah McColgan, Miguel says:
“It’s so easy to ignore what’s right in front of us sometimes. I wanted to create a song and visual that addressed my everyday concerns of life as I know it in the world that we live in.”
Check it.
