MAGAZINE FAB: Dwyane Wade Speaks To JET About His Custody Battle & Relationship With Ex-Wife Siovaughn
May 17th

In the latest issue of JET, Miami Heat baller Dwyane Wade opens up about raising his sons and tells how his drama-filled custody battle put a strain on his co-parenting relationship with ex-wfe Siohvaughn Funches. We can only imagine. See the highlights inside:
After penning a successful memoir on parenting, A FATHER FIRST: How My Life Became Bigger than Basketball, and starring in DOVE’s "Men+Care" Fatherhood Campaign, Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade opened up to JET Magazine this week about the life experiences that shaped his parenting. And his cover shot looks damn good.
From his prolonged custody battle, to his mom’s addiction to heroin and alcohol, the gold-medal winning athlete gets candid about his role as a full-time dad. Here are the highlights:
Wade on his reason for pushing through the difficult custody battle:
“I didn’t set out to get full custody but I wasn’t able to see my kids the way I wanted and I’m not a parent who’s going to run away from his responsibilities. I was probably a terrible husband, but I pride myself on being a good dad.”Wade on his rocky relationship with estranged ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches:
“It’s been six years and hopefully one day she and I can get to the point where it’s a lot easier than it is now to co-parent.”Mom Jolinda Wade on how Dwyane’s dad impacted his fathering:
"Dwyane came up not having a father around, so he didn’t think he was missing anything. But having his father take over the key role in parenting was very impactful. That was the first view he got as a young man to see what to do and what not to do.”Dwyane on his fathering skills of his two sons Zaire, 11, and Zion, 5 and nephew Dahveon Morris, 11 (who he has legal guardianship of):
“I’m the kind of parent who asks my kids questions like what would be your ideal thing to do in the summer? This year it’s Disney World,” explains Wade, the proud father of two boys. Even though I make the final decision, I want them to feel involved. Not only in vacations but other things as well.”
Elsewhere in the issue, JET talks to rapper Eve about her long-awaited Lip Lock album and romance to UK millionaire Maximillion Cooper. Also, T.I. and Marvin Sapp discuss raising their sons in a special Father’s Day story.
Dwyane Wade’s issue of JET Magazine hit the stands on May 20.
EVE TAKEOVER: The Rapstress Hits “Wendy”, Rocks NY Post Fashion Shoot & “360″ Magazine
May 17th

The blonde bombshell is no longer a pitbull in a skirt. At least she doesn’t look that part. The 2013 Eve is girly, fashionable, damn fabulous, and pretty freakin’ gorge. And we’re loving how open she is about her love for her man and the trials of her career.
Check out the independent woman on a promo spree to push her newest album LipLock inside…
11 years after the release of her last album, Eve finally released her long awaited LipLock LP yesterday. And she did so independently on her own label From The Rib.
The 34-year-old fashionista has been on a full out promo spree rocking fashion shoots and magazine covers and interviews. Her latest–a cover and spread for 360 Magazine’s Art & Design issue. She’s giving hair, face and body while being shot by photographer Ron Contarsy. The cover is above, and she’s looking modelicious in the rest of the spread, styled by fashion editor Apuje Kalu:

Loving everything about this. Check out the full spread and 360′s new issue HERE.
The "She Bad Bad" rapper also rocked a new spring fashion shoot for the NY Post. And she’s looking great in every look she shot:

This style change up is EVERYTHING for E-V-E. Work.
And this morning, Eve hit up "The Wendy Show" in a sexy purple leopard curve hugging dress and a hot gold choker necklace by Monika Chang:
She revealed that while her tv show "Eve" is currently in reruns on TV One, she misses that sitcom life and it was the best time of her life. She also reveals that while she has a track record of dating menn with major money (that African prince and now her "baby" as she called him, Maximillion), she can make her own money. She’s learned from her mistakes of bad record label deals and contracts, and she simply knows what type of lifestyle she wants to maintain.
Eve reiterated that she’s ready to pop out some babies. And living in London with her British boo has been fabulous.
As for whether she’s spoken to her former Ruff Ryders mate, DMX, thats a No. But she says she’ll always be there for him if he needs her.
Her album, LipLock, is in stores now. And it’s got features from Missy, Swizz, Dawn Richard and more. So go cop that!

BODY THIS: Solange Knowles Flaunts Those Killer Legs For COMPLEX Magazine, Creates Her Own Music Label “Saint Records”
May 14th

Solange Knowles knows her body, and knows how to flaunt it. The "Looks Good With Trouble" chick is featured on the cover and pages of COMPLEX magazine’s newest issue in one pieces and high heels. And she also just announced her brand new music label that she can call her very own.
Check the pics and deets inside…
In some summery & hot photos for COMPLEX magazine, Solo is showing us exactly how a 26-year-old mom of one can slay the game on her own terms. In the fashion and non-mainstream music worlds, she’s pretty much the perfect peach everyone loves.
And we’re going to be getting a lot more of those chill vibes as Solo just announced she’ll be releasing her own music through her very own record label, Saint Records. She tweeted this afternoon:
Super stoked to announce I’ve started my own label, SAINT RECORDS,where I’ll be releasing my music & other projects distributed through SONY! Through Saint Records I will have 100% creative/artistic control & continue to passionately pursue my footing in this new musical movement.
Congrats!
Now check out her vintage (remember ya mama and grandma’s couch with the plastic cover?) & bold style photoshoot, rocking Gottex, Louboutin and more, with those big curls we love below:

Stunning as usual. Highlights from her cover story:
On how she first started her rebellion against the industry: “I wanted to make all of the creative artistic decisions but I wasn’t the one paying for it. And they didn’t fully trust me to make them,” she says. “Every decision was a battle. It was exhausting. I wanted to be in a position where not only was the music fully my body of work, but everything thereafter was also my body of work. I knew that meant I had to leave and that I had to struggle.”
On being so ambitious in her own way: “I have a mother who never took no for an answer when it came to her creative pursuits,” Solange says. “She started a hair salon in her spare bedroom and four years later had 30 employees. I have a father who was the first black student at his junior high and high school and had to do a lot to get to that point. So it’s really in my bloodline when it comes to having an idea and making it happen.”
On the writing/recording process with producer Dev hynes for her newer music: “We were either staying in a rented house or he was staying with me, my boyfriend, and my son. Everything that happened on this record was literally waking up, him usually before me, going and creating the bones to the track and then me rolling over and hearing it while I’m fixing breakfast. When you’re making music like that, where it’s a natural extension of your day, it’s so much more enjoyable,” Solange says. “I remember being in writing sessions and having to put disclaimers out every time I was about to share something. You need to be in a space where you can just say, ‘All right. This is what I’m feeling.’”
On her home life: “When I’m home, I’m just straight mommin’ it,” Solange says of life in Brooklyn, which revolves around 8-year-old Juelz. “School runs, play dates, soccer games, etc. You have to constantly fight for that balance and now I kinda got it under control.” After a hectic few weeks on tour, she’s looking forward to leaving town with Juelz later today for a two-week vacation—a week in L.A. and a week in New Orleans, where she feels very, very at home. “I go to crazy bounce clubs,” she says. “I eat crazy po’ boys, drink daiquiris. I ride my bike a lot.”

In the June 2013 issue of ELLE Magazine, screen goddess Kerry Washington reflected on the career she thought she’d have in academia and why she never expected to become a leading lady. Also, the "Scandal" actress, who turned heads at the 2013 Met Ball last night, commented on her red carpet process and the village of fashionable people it takes to help her create memorable looks. On getting red-carpet ready: "I found out I enjoy the process. All these people show up at my house, they all have kits, someone has dresses. And it’s like, Let’s have fun. It’s not all about me. We’re able to create stories on the red carpet."
On the career Washington thought she’d pursue: "I imagined I’d be a clinical psychologist, with a focus on how performance shapes identity. I’d figure out ways to use role-playing in the healing of people."
