While we’re halfway through February, months have gone by where we’ve been wearing jackets, parkas and hoodies on a regular basis along with coordinating pieces to keep us warm. Keeping your outfits fresh and not repetitive is a task, so we’ve put together some looks for you to show how you can mix it up with various types of outerwear and how they coordinate with the other pieces you wear.
For the first look, our model is wearing a grey Hudson short-sleeve hoodie with a long-sleeve shirt layered underneath it. The hoodie is the darkest part of the outfit, while the rest of the look is lighter even down to the crisp white kicks. For more casual days, this look is great if you’re looking to be fresh yet still comfortable.
The next look is anchored by a Carolina Blue Nike zip-up hoodie, which is paired with clean and classic beige pants and light-colored Nikes to cap it off. The pants and kicks serve as a staple for one’s wardrobe while the hoodie brings that pop of color while keeping things casual and light.
The last look is the most sophisticated of three, which features a variety of textures and patterns for the two-tone windbreaker, grey jogger pants, highly-patterned Nike boots and grey ball cap. Although there is a lot going on with this look from a detail perspective, the look comes together by its common color: grey. Each part of the outfit returns to that theme which allows anyone to recognize there was thought and individual style put into this outfit.
For this week’s installment of December Looks, we break down a few different outfits that fall under the theme “Beat The Winter”. The looks we put together follow suit in more technical/futuristic pieces that do their job of beating the colder months. For our first look, we layered a Nike silver puffer over Nike jacket. Down below, we capped off the look with American stitch double zipper pants with a pair Nike Huaraches. A black and silver color palette keeps the focus on the silhouettes of these pieces.
Our next look is a bit lighter, with an Adidas hoodie paired with a minimal/classic shirt underneath. Wear that with a pair of matching tech joggers by adidas along with some adidas sneakers. Last but not least, our third look utilizes a popping red accent color in its his outerwear and beanie. The Red Jordan Hoodie and Vest are layered over one another while a subtle grey evens out the outfit.
With Winter officially kicking off this past week—although it’s certainly felt like it has been here this whole time—the question arises: “How does one stay warm in style?” For us, we think utilizing earth tones and floral patterns are a nice change of pace to round out your outfits.
One look we’ve put together this week combines the Asphalt Floral sweater with Olive pants and Ice Blue Jordan 1′s capped off with a Jordan beanie. Using one color for all pieces then allowing the floral sweater to really pop with its pattern is the strategy here. Another look we put together is more understated and clean, which is focused on a more subdued color palette. Following the black-and-white theme, the floral jacket is what immediately catches your eye. When you look closer, it’s the technical details in the sweatpants (such as the zipper pocket) and technical sneaker design that really completes the look.

Here at Footaction, we’re continuously receiving new kicks from Jordan, Nike and adidas year-round while Timberland boots are always a colder weather favorite. It should be noted that while jackets and hoodies will be getting more shine around this time of year, graphic tees from brands like Hustle Gang and Rocksmith will allow for more freedom for your layering options. Also the textures of the American Stitch jogger pant and make-you-stand-out 3M-infused shirts from Ice Cold NY make for added elements to layer different/better with. To highlight Footaction’s essentials for September, we put together a handful of looks for you to gain inspiration. In the lookbook above, we had a very special guest: producer and rapper Hit-Boy from G.O.O.D. Music showing off what he would rock this month. The fall brings a new sense of energy; the colors of the leaves are changing which provide a different backdrop for the months ahead. The cooler air means you can begin to layer various pieces—but proceed with caution—because you don’t want to be too reckless when it comes to patterns and colors.

Burgeoning Japanese contemporary label FREQUENT has released its lookbook for Spring/Summer 2014. Projecting the idea of proper morning rituals, this collection uses a range of bright blues and whites to express its formal-leaning garb. Accordingly, seersucker shirts are matched with light sand-colored casual pants, while linen blazers and cropped shorts block light teal with tonal sky blue at the pockets and sleeves. Even the loungewear, consisting of light hoodies and a pajama set, are given the same distinctive feel. Elsewhere, FREQUENT experiments with two popular motifs – camouflage and floral prints – to create a rather dapper ensemble. Enjoy the clever lookbook above, then be sure to look for this collection from FREQUENT at retailers in the coming months.
