Pete Rock Talks Helping Kanye West With Beats & Being A J Dilla Fan [VIDEO]

If you’re a true Hip-Hop fan, you can never grow tired of hearing Pete Rock talk about beats. The Chocolate Boy Wonder recently talked digging for beats, hooking up tracks for The Throne, watching the late J Dilla produce fresh grooves and more.
The Mt. Vernon native kicks things off by talking about Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “The Joy,” a bonus track on Watch The Throne that was actually put together during the session’s for the latter’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album. It also appeared during Yeezy’s G.O.O.D. Fridays series of free music drops.
“Kanye reached out to me, I came out to Hawaii. I worked on like eight beats. Out of the eight, we narrowed it down to one,” Pete Rock told Media Gasface. “Helped him out on a couple of other beats, and that’s it. We did that song. It’s a Curtis Mayfield sample that I used to listen to growing up as a kid. My father used to play the song and stuff. I remember it from then.”
Another Syl Johnson sample on “The Joy” would cause some controversy since it wasn’t initially cleared, though no fault of Pete Rock’s. The producer also spoke the influence of fellow beat diggers like Large Professor, Q-Tip and especially J Dilla.
“He used to blow me away with his beats. I became a fan instantly,” says Pete Rock of his fellow production virtuoso. “I’ve seen him make beats for D’Angelo in the studio, I’ve seen him make beats at home, I’ve hung around him for a whole week straight. “

Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Look Back At Pre Relationship Days

After announcing their baby news, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have been making headlines together as the world ponders what a Kimye family clan will be like. The couple have been in Europe for vacation but Kim is looking back at their pre-relationship days with her Throwback Thursday pictures. from 2008 on Instagram posing with her man.
This week she posted an Instagram shot of them from back in 2008 at a party.
Although they weren’t dating back then, the two of them have certainly known each other for a while. The pictures show Kim and Kanye posing with producer Jermaine Dupri and Kim’s brother Rob in another picture.
Kanye also posted a picture recently on his otherwise empty Twitter timeline. The picture is a cropped photo of him and Kim plus Jay-Z and Beyonce with the caption “FAM.” Soon that “fam” Kanye is referring to will also include a baby. Kimye just purchased an million mansion in Bel-Air to accommodate their new family.
The pair also recently went to Paris to unwind after ringing in the New Year in Las Vegas.

”She Hand-Picked A Property For Her Daughter”
There are rumors that Kim Kardashian’s notorious mother, Kris Jenner, is, well–getting on Kanye West’s nerves. According to RadarOnline, Yeezy bought the million mansion that he and Kim are moving into to ensure that they wouldn’t be living in the same neighborhood as Kris–who had already spotted a luxurious home in the area for Kim to be close. “Kris is desperate to be close to Kim during her pregnancy, so she hand-picked a property for her daughter and Kanye in Hidden Hills,” a source told RadarOnline. “The home was in a gated community, was very palatial and an ideal setting for them to live privately away from the media glare. She wanted to be able to visit Kim as often as possible and come and go as and when she chose to. Kris even suggested having her own key. But, Kanye laid down the law. He said ‘hell no’ to the idea and told Kim he didn’t want to live near her mom.” |
Producer S1 Says Kanye West Will “Really Go In” On Next Album

Kanye West might just be on Cloud 9 right now. His girl is carrying his seed, they just bought a home in Bel Air and are currently in Paris living the good life, so naturally he’s expected to put his everything into his forthcoming solo effort.
Producer S1 (aka Symbolyc One), whose non-Yeezy credits include working with the likes of Lupe Fiasco, Beyoncé , and, Reakwon to name a few, is working with the Chicago native on his next solo project. In an interview with Hip-Hop-N-More, the Texas native dropped a few details on what Ye has in store for the game. ”I’m always working with Kanye. In fact, I’m actually part of his production team Very G.O.O.D. Beats,” S1 explained. ” He has maybe like 20 records with me . Where they’ll end up I have no idea but yeah, I’m always involved with stuff he’s working on, whether it’s his solo project or a G.O.O.D. Music compilation album. I’m always contributing my ideas of work to him. He’s gearing up to like really go in on that. I’m definitely excited about being a part of that.”
In addition to West, S1 is also linking with Fiasco for the continuation to Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Part 1. “I am very involved with the overall sound he’s creating,” he said.
No word yet on when this new Ye album will drop, but according to S1 fans can expect Fiasco’s new one sometime this year.

Reality Star Still Fighting Through Divorce
Kim Kardashian isn’t interested in marrying Kanye West, and for good reason. She’s still trying to clean up the mess that is her lingering divorce from Brooklyn Nets player Kris Humphries. It is being reported that Kimmy is miffed that Kris is dragging his feet through the process while she is about to have another man’s baby. Nonetheless, she isn’t trying to get hitched to Yeezy just yet. But she adamantly wants to be legally divorced from Kris Humphries before she brings a baby into the world. |
Kanye West & Kim Kardashian’s $11M Mansion Looks Ridiculously Plush [PHOTOS]

Yesterday, news broke that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian recently purchased an million mansion in Bel Air, California. Now photos have surfaced of the couple’s new crib—no pun intended—and it looks ridiculously plush.
The couple are currently renovation the 10,000 square foot digs but from the looks of these aerial shots, a small community of people could move in right now and call it a day.
The yellow mansion is designed like an Italian style villa and features a three car garage and what looks like a pair of swimming pools. The inside may trump the exteriors since it reportedly sports a gym, movie theater, a hair & makeup salon, bowling alley, basketball court and an indoor pool. The home is in a gated community and the couple’s neighbors will include LA Clippers point guard Chris Paul and actress Jennifer Aniston.
Yeezy surely won’t mind the gated community aspect if it means increased security. In June 2012, the rapper/producer’s Los Angeles apartment, which at the time was up for sale, was burglarized.

Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Hit Paris To Unwind

After announcing that you’re expecting your first child during a sold out show, what do you do next? Jet off to Paris and unwind, obviously. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West hit a few designer stores in Paris this week, after ringing in the New Year in Vegas.
The couple kept in casual in the chilly weather, browsing stores on Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris. Earlier this week it was reported that they purchased an million mansion in Bel-Air California. The new spread will come equipped with a bowling alley, movie theater, indoor and outdoor pool, a basketball court and a full salon.
“I wouldn’t say that it’s been easy,” Kim said of her pregnancy during a New Year’s Eve party in Las Vegas. “When people say pregnancy is fun and they love it, I would have to disagree. It’s not as easy as people think. It is, you know, a little painful. There’s a lot of growing pains.”

While the rest of the world only found out about Kim Kardashian‘s pregnancy when Kanye West made the announcement during his December 30 concert, the signs were there all along. Just weeks before, the couple jointly purchased a 10,000 square-foot mansion in Bel Air, California. Currently in the purchase’s escrow stage, the Mediterranean-style home costs around .75 million dollars and is within an exclusive gated community. With nearly three-quarter-acre, the property boasts many modern amenities in Old World styling. A courtyard leads to a grand entryway 2 stories high, with expansive black walnut parquet floor leading to main living room and its immense stone fireplace. Along with the dining room and sitting/entertainment room, the high-end kitchen opens directly onto the backyard and barbecue station. Said to have five bedrooms and balconies that overlook the property on the second level, the house also includes a massage chamber and several walk-in closets. Finally, like any respectable Bel Air mansion, the home comes with an elevator as well.
In good company, Kim & Kanye will living with actress Jennifer Aniston, Los Angeles Clippers’ Chris Paul, and soft-porn king Joe Francis of “Girls Gone Wild” fame as neighbors. But don’t expect the couple to move into their new crib yet. There are plans to out another 4,000 square-foot of space to the house with possible addition of a basketball court, gym, indoor pool, and etc…

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian Pop Designer Tags in Paris

While their million mansion gets remodeled, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were enjoying themselves in Paris. The jet-setting couple bundled up for the cold as they indulged in some retail therapy at designer stores including Céline and Lanvin. Yeezy sported a big gray coat over his blazer, while his pregnant girlfriend modeled a black pancho.
