May 21st

”I Might Get the Bug”
Instagram seems to be the easiest way to learn about who’s collaborating with who, and the latest superstars to be photographed in the studio together are none other than rapper/producer Kanye West and rapper/actor Will Smith. Will and Yeezy apparently have been in the studio a few times together, though it remains uncertain of the A-list actor is thinking of re-igniting his hip-hop career. “I’ve been messing around with Kanye, we went into the studio a couple of times,” Smith revealed in an interview with Hip Hollywood. “I might get the bug. I’m not gonna do it unless I’m truly inspired but Ye’s been pushing me a little bit.” |
Is Will Smith Teaming Up With Kanye West? [VIDEO]
May 20th
What would the Fresh Prince sound like in 2013? Fans may find out sooner than later; Will Smith revealed that he and Kanye West have been recording new material in a brief interview with Hip Hollywood.
“I been messing around with Kanye,” said Smith. “We went into the studio a couple times, so I might get the bug. I’m not going to do it unless I’m truly inspired, but Kanye’s been pushing me a little bit.”
Some will recall that West was in Brazil enjoying the world famous Rio Carnival with his girlfriend Kim Kardashian and creating music, while his peers attended the 55th annual Grammy Awards. Photos from the excursion revealed that he connected with Smith while there, but the nature of their meeting was unknown until today.
In light of the unprecedented roll out for his sixth studio album, Yeezus, we wouldn’t be surprised if Smith made a cameo appearance in some capacity on the project. Actually, nothing West does at this point would be very surprising.

Kanye West Reveals Racially-Charged Lyrics to ‘Black Skinhead’
May 19th
By Sowmya Krishnamurthy
Kanye West debuted his new song “Black Skinhead” on Saturday Night Live last night and now the rapper/producer is sharing the lyrics to the controversial track. ‘Ye took to Twitter and posted two screenshots of the song’s lyrics.
“Pardon, I’m getting my scream on,” starts one line, signifying the tone of the song. The racially-charged number touches on themes like interracial relationships, religious fervor and Ye’s reputation in society. “Baby, we living in the moment/I been a menace for the longest,” he raps along with, “Middle America packed in/came to see me in my black skin.”
Kanye performed “Black Skinhead” for the first time on SNL. Wearing black leather and appearing against huge screens with black and white imagery, the superstar was somber as he spit his lyrics. For his second song on SNL, Kanye kept the mood equally serious with “New Slaves.” The track debuted earlier on Friday with a series of projections appearing at 66 specific touch points around the world.
Shortly before the performance, Kanye’s lady Kim Kardashian took to Instagram and posted a photo that seemed to confirm Kanye’s album name (Yeezus) as well as release date. “#Yeezus #RedYeezy’s #SNL #Tonight #NewSlaves #YeezySeason #Donda #June18,” Kim shared, captioning a photo of the new red Air Yeezy IIs and the Yeezus album packaging.
Kanye West Projects Visuals for New Song “New Slaves” Across World with Lyrics
May 19th

Kanye West has been a persistent named splashed across headlines in the last few weeks, often times not for what he’s known best — music. Controversy and media interest has long followed Kanye West every step of the way as he officially presented his newest hard hitting track “New Slaves” at live screenings across the world. Several different global cities had the song presented on large buildings, as it arguably one of West’s most powerful yet. Miss Info provides the lyrics to the track below to give you a good indication of the subject matter:
My mama was raised in an era when/Clean water was only served to the fairer skin
Doing clothes you would have thought I had help/But they wouldn’t be satisfied unless I picked the cotton myself
You see its broke n—a racism/That’s that don’t touch anything in the store
And there’s rich n—a racism/That’s that come here please buy more
What you want a Bentley, fur coat and diamond chain?/All you blacks want all the same things
Used to only be n—as /Now everybody play me
Spending everything on that Alexander Wang/New Slaves[Hook]
You see it’s leaders and it’s followers/But I’d rather be a dick than a swallower
You see it’s leaders and it’s followers/But I’d rather be a dick than a swallower[Verse 2]
I throw these Maybach keys/I wear my heart on my sleeve
I know that we the new slaves/I see the blood on the leaves
I see the blood on the leaves/I see the blood on the leaves
I know that we the new slaves/I see the blood on the leaves
They throwing hate at me/Want me to stay at ease
Fuck you and your corporation/Y’all n—as can’t control me
I know that we the new slaves/I know that we the new slaves
I’m about to wild the fuck out/I’m going Bobby Boucher
I know that pussy ain’t free/You n—as pussy, ain’t me
Y’all throwing contracts at me/You know that n—as can’t read
Throw him some Maybach keys/Fuck it, c’est la vie
I know that we the new slaves/Y’all n—as can’t fuck with me
Y’all n—as can’t fuck with Ye/Y’all n—as can’t fuck with Ye
I move my family out the country /So you can’t see where I stay
So go and grab the reporters/So I can smash their recorders
Yeah they confuse us with bullshit/Like the New World Order
Meanwhile the DEA/Teamed up with the CCA
They tryna lock n—as up/They tryna make new slaves
See that’s that private-owned prison/Get your piece today
They prolly all in the Hamptons/Braggin’ ’bout they maid
Fuck you and your Hampton house/I’ll fuck your Hampton spouse
Came on her Hampton blouse/And in her Hampton mouth
Y’all ’bout to turn shit up/I’m ’bout to tear shit down
I’m ’bout to air shit out/Now what the fuck they gon’ say now?
