Jay-Z Squashes Beyoncé Pregnancy Rumors

It looks like Beyoncé is not pregnant after all. Jay-Z took matters into his own hands to quash the baby rumors by responding to a congratulatory e-mail from the program director Ebro Darden of New York’s Hot 97. According to Darden, Jay-Z wrote:
“It’s not true. The news is worse than blogs.”
Reports emerged last Friday intending to use the pregnancy rumor to explain Bey’s recent ailments on tour, including a show she canceled last Tuesday in Belgium because of dehydration and exhaustion. In addition, multiple sources at the Met Gala told the New York Post that the pop icon was expecting.

Jay-Z has apparently made it clear that Beyonce is not “with child.” Hot 97′s program director Ebro said that Jay flat-out denied reports that Beyonce is expecting another baby. Reports of a “confirmed” pregnancy surfaced late last week. “I e-mailed on some, ‘Congratulations, send my love to the family, blah, blah, blah,’ and he hit me back and said it’s not true. [I hit him] like literally, it had to be Saturday afternoon. So it had been a whole 24 hours of ‘It’s true,’” Ebro explained. “I figured, I didn’t want to hit them [right away], you know, I figured they were in good sprits. It was just announced there’s a new child. [His direct quote was] ‘It’s not true, news is worse than blogs.’ That’s what the e-mail account said. [laughs]” |
RUMOR CONTROL: Jay-Z DENIES Beyonce’s Pregnancy?!! Says “The News Is Worse Than Blogs”

Rapper Jay-Z has spoken out (sorta) about rumors of Beyonce’s pregnancy…and he’s denying it. Find out what he allegedly said inside and why we think the pregnancy rumors were started…
For the past few days, the world has been flushed with gossip about pop superstar Beyonce expecting her second child. The news went mainstream when E! News reported the pregnancy as the next best thing to FACT. Though E! news is considered a VERY reliable news outlets by EVERYONE, but according to Jay apparently, the news is NOT a fact.
Over the weekend, Ebro (the famed station manager of NYC’s Hot 97) went on record saying that he received an email from Jay-Z denying the pregnancy. On air, he read Jay-Z’s email saying, "It’s not true. The news is worse than blogs." Of course, this could "potentially" have come from someone else, but because Jay-Z and Ebro have had a close relationship for over a decade…we’ll take Ebro’s word for it.
But here’s the other issue…why would E! News report something which "might" not be true? We have our own suspicions that have been brought to our attention.
You’ll recall that In Touch Weekly printed a potentially embarrassing cover story about Kanye West’s sexuality a few days ago. The tabloid claimed he is in a gay relationship with Riccardo Ticsci…and we passed on posting the story since we’ve heard that rumor for years now with no credible confirmations. But with mainstream tabloids posting it now, this could possibly threaten that Kardashian throne (we all know the concoction of the Kardashians is E!’s biggest cash cow). So, we think it’s odd that the rumor of Bey’s second child came out RIGHT AFTER the In Touch article.
We’ve all seen how Olivia Pope mastered the art of "changing the conversation" on "Scandal". And you’ll notice that we’re not talking about Kanye’s sexuality anymore. We might mention his SNL rant, but his relationship with Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci is old news. Why? Beyonce MIGHT BE PREGNANT!
But jeopardizing your credibility is a serious length to go to just to play Captain Save A Baby Mama.
As far as E! News goes….they have not printed a retraction and their "Beyonce’s Pregnant" story is still on the front page of their website. But the story about Kanye’s sexuality NEVER made the site.
Jay-Z Buys Skylar Diggins A Mercedes-Benz [PHOTOS]

Rolling with the Roc has its benefits. WNBA draft pick Skylar Diggins graduated from Notre Dame this weekend, and as a birthday present received a Mercedes-Benz from Jay-Z.
Diggins, aka Lil Wayne’s crush, signed with Roc Nation sports in late April. She was chosen as the no. 3 pick in the 2013 WNBA draft by the Tulsa Shock. But one important piece of unfinished business she had to handle, was graduating from Notre Dame yesterday (May 19).
“Graduation! This is for you, mom!,” was the caption of a picture of her self in her cap and gown that she shared on Instagram. The next pic was of her birthday gift; a Mercedes-Benz CLS complete with a red bow and a handwritten note (“Enjoy.”) from one Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter.
“Got surprised with a new mercedes! Thanks so much to Jay and @rocnation, and @dancyautogroup!”
She’s a professional now, so it’s all good.

”Please Be Very Afraid of the Music We’re Working On”
Just days after an Instagram photo of hip-hop superstar Jay-Z and Wu-Tang lyricist Raekwon in the studio sparked talk of a collaboration, a photo surfaced of Jay in the studio with Young Money superstar Drake. The picture was reportedly taken by Def Jam A&R Lenny Santiago. “Warning: Please be very afraid of the music we’re working on. OVO x ROCNATION” read the caption alongside the photo. Drake has been working on his new album which is due this summer. Jay has also been working on more music lately. No further details on what they could have in the works as of yet. |
BACK IN THE STUDIO: Jay-Z Taps Drake For Possible Upcoming Album + Janet Jackson Dishes On New Project & Love For Kendrick Lamar

Looks like both Jay-Z and Janet Jackson are returning to the studio to create brand new projects. Check out how Ms. Jackson says she’s celebrating 20 years after the janet album, and who Jay’s cooking up music with in the lab…
Hip Hop Producer Lenny S (Kodak Lens) spilled the tea on some new music comign out the Roc Nation camp. And it looks like it’s all for a new upcoming album from Mr. Carter.
Lenny posted a pic of Jay, rocking a Soulland brand "BOURGEOISIE" shirt, in the studio with Drake today working on some new music. He said, "Warning: Please be very afraid of the music we’re working on. OVO x ROCNATION."
The two also collabo’d on "Light Up" on Drake’s Thank Me Later album. We’ll see how this new collabo sounds…
And last week, Lenny also posted a pic of Jay working with rapper Raekwon. Looks like some classic ish is on the way…
And in other comeback news, Janet Jackson is working on a new project. Woot! Nope, she didn’t let her brand new (secret) marriage and recent muslim conversion halt her music career.
She told Billboard on the anniversary of her janet album yesterday about her new project, the artists she’s feeling, and how she feels about being two decades in with one of the most iconic albums (7x platinum) of all time.
May 18 marks the 20th anniversary of "janet." How would you describe what that album captures about your life at that time?
I can’t believe it is already 20 years! I always write my music based on what is going on in my life at the time. I wanted to allow people in… I want my fans to really know me. The ‘janet’ album was sexual and I was beginning to really discover that side of me.There are musical references and direct samples of janet. songs all over the place now, most notably on Kendrick Lamar’s "Poetic Justice." Have you heard most of these re-interpretations (Moon Boots’ "Sugar," which samples "If," How To Dress Well’s cover of "Again," MNEK’s "That’s The Way Love Goes" etc?) And how does it feel to see your work have such impact on new artists?
I have listened to the music that is out there and I love Kendrick’s "Poetic Justice." There are artists, true performers that have come before me who have been a big inspiration to me. I hope I do the same for others.Several of the songs on janet. and their accompanying videos were groundbreaking at the time for their overt sexuality. Why was it so important for you to express that part of yourself in your work, and how did you convince others around you at the time to let you take those risks?
Like I said before, I write about my experiences or things that touch me deeply. I was really beginning to get in tune with my sexual self. This is what I wanted to express so I did. The decision to move forward in an artistic way is mine. I didn’t need to convince anyone.The videos and tour for "janet." featured some iconic choreography from Tina Landon, most notably on ‘If.’ Do you have a favorite dance or video from that period?
Tina Landon and Omar Lopez choreographed "If". I love "That’s The Way Love Goes," "You Want This" and especially "If." I don’t think people really realize what we were showing in that video that wasn’t available with technology then. The video featured futuristic technology, specifically high definition touch screens. I wanted the actors in the video to use these screens to communicate, and relate with each other in the clubs. Similar to what we all do with our smart phones and tablets today. As I look at our lives now, it seems that life is imitating art. I have seen different elements from all of these videos in lots of artists work and it’s a great feeling to know that you have inspired them in such a way.Many artists cite you as a role model and a huge influence on their career and image. Which artists today do you admire?
I’m flattered that other artists consider me a role model. I’m really enjoying what Bruno Mars and Adele are doing, a lot of artistry there.
And she says about releasing her first project since 2008′s Discipline:
“I am working on a new project now. We are creating the concept and initial thoughts on the music. I am excited about the direction we are taking. I don’t want to rush it… I don’t want to put a time constraint on the creative process.”

Jay-Z Spotted In The Studio With Drake [PHOTO]

This summer could be very special. Jay-Z is working on and album, and so is Drake. The two artists were recently spotted in the studio together.
Lenny Santiago, the longtime A&R for the Roc, shared a pic Hova and Drizzy in the lab via Instagram. “Warning: Please be very afraid of the music we’re working on. OVO x ROCNATION,” reads the caption accompanying the pic.
Earlier in the week, Jigga was spotted cooking up what’s sure to be some heat with Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon. Still no word on when we can expect a new Jay-Z album, though. With reports of his wife Beyoncé being pregnant with baby number two, any sort of timetable may have been thrown off. Drake’s new album, Nothing Was The Same, is dues out this summer.
Also, you can find that Bourg Eoisie sweatshirt by a label called SOULLAND that Jay-Z is rocking right here. At 0 each, the designer, 23-year-old Silas Adler, just came up. And no, bourgeoisie is not a code word for the Illuminati.

Jay-Z In The Studio With Drake

And another Jay-Z collaboration is on the horizon. After Raekwon instagrammed a picture of himself and Hove a couple of days ago, another pic of Jay and Drake has now surfaced. The picture was taken by Lenny Santiago, the longtime A&R over at Def Jam and friend of Jay. This caption has been added:

As we know, Drizzy is working on his new album Nothing Was The Same this summer, it is also rumored that Jay-Z is working on a full-length as well. Feel free to speculate below.
Beyoncé & Jay-Z Reportedly Have Second Child On The Way

It looks like Blue Ivy won’t be an only child for long. E! News sources confirmed that Beyoncé is indeed pregnant with child number two. Rumors of her pregnancy began earlier this month when she walked down the red carpet at Met Gala in a Givenchy gown that conveniently covered her figure. Then earlier this week, doctors diagnosed her with “dehydration and exhaustion” and recommended she rest, causing her to cancel the Antwerp, Belgium date for The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. Neither Jay-Z nor Bey’s camps have confirmed the report, but Beyoncé has stated openly in the past that she’d like to have more children.
Kendrick Lamar Was Inspired By Jay-Z

”That Was My Moment…”
Kendrick Lamar explained in a recent interview with Get Schooled just how much it meant for him to land Jay-Z on the remix for his single “B*tch, Don’t Kill My Vibe.” For K. Dot it was affirmation of his reputation. “It was one of them feelings where, you know, you finally reached that moment to where you’re actually respected,” Lamar said. “Jay-Z don’t have to [be on] nobody’s track, so for him to actually hop on a record of mine just shows the level of respect he has for me as an artist. And as a true artist, that’s what you want. You have all the money in the world and the awards, and accolades and stuff, you always want that respect. For him to do that, it’s just one of them things. I felt like, ‘OK, I finally accomplished what I sought out to do the moment I turned 13, and that’s be respected by people I respect.” |
Kendrick said Jay’s appearance inspired him to step his game up.
“I felt like I had to try to at least come some type of correct because that was my moment,” he says. “All them years of rapping and writing raps didn’t mean nothing if I couldn’t live up to that moment.”
