The Nike Year Of The Horse (Nike Kobe NSW “YOTH” and Nike Flight Exposed “YOTH”) are in stores now, to coincide with the Year of the Horse in the Lunar New Year; an annual celebration unrivaled in Chinese culture. With the fresh start, it’s a chance to both reflect and celebrate.

The collections is inspired by the strength and symbolism of the horse, as the Nike Kobe 9 NSW Lifestyle differs from the rest of the pack in its usage of pony hair across the upper. That material seems like a no-brainer as far as the “YOTH” theme is concerned, but Nike has for the most part ignored it-presumably wanting to ignore any sort of convention or expectations people may have had surrounding the set. The Nike Air Flightposite Exposed features a horse-in-motion graphic across the upper along with the implantation of the traditional Chinese character “ma” meaning horse.
