Wiz Khalifa’s trajectory in his rap career has always been about representing where he came from and staying true to who he was to his fans. Often chanting “Taylor Gang” in his songs, the name derives from both the name of his high school and iconic Converse Chuck Taylor. It’s only fitting that the rapper continues his partnership with Converse for their second sneaker collaboration.
“I am very excited about continuing my relationship with Converse and releasing this new sneaker collection,” says Wiz Khalifa in a statement. “We spent a lot of time designing each part of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ILL and the end result is exactly what I wanted.” The sneakers arrive in two colors—a dominantly black version and dominantly white version—to remain clean and classic.
Wiz Khalifa made an appearance at the Footaction in New York City last Thursday to launch the shoe, shake hands with fans and continue to strengthen the Taylor allegiance. Converse and Wiz Khalifa are back on the colloboration grind for year two of Converse’s deal with the Pittsburgh based rapper and leader of his own Taylor Gang record label. Wiz’s first round of Converse releases last year resulted in 12 new styles for the brand. This year the collaborators put their creativity into two premium releases, one black and one white, of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ILL by Wiz Khalifa.
The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ILL by Wiz Khalifa incorporates several distinct accents including the Wiz Khalifa branded logo tab and eyelet, while staying true to the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette. The sneakers also feature a leather upper with an oversized Chuck Taylor logo on the medial side. Available in black and white, the black style features a translucent outsole with gold fleck detailing.
“I am very excited about continuing my relationship with Converse and releasing this new sneaker collection,” says Wiz Khalifa. “We spent a lot of time designing each part of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ILL and the end result is exactly what I wanted.”

This specific pair arrives in black and gum, and immortalizes his place in Converse history with this shoe. “I am very excited about continuing my relationship with Converse and releasing this new sneaker collection,” says Wiz Khalifa. This marks Wiz Khalifa’s second sneaker collaboration with Converse. “We spent a lot of time designing each part of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ILL and the end result is exactly what I wanted.” Modifying the original Chuck Taylor All Star with a leather upper and an oversized CT logo on the medial side, this version carries a Wiz Khalifa-branded logo tab and eyelet.

Gracing the likes of Larry Bird and Magic Johnson in the mid 80s, the Converse Weapon has made it’s way back to stores. Arriving in stores in three retroed colorways and a fourth online (white/green), the Weapon 86 is a Converse basketball classic. The Weapon bears an upper fully contructed out of smooth leather overlays with very simple and vivid color blocking style. A vulcanized white midsole on all four colorways is set off by the corresponding accented outsole in sits on top of. Classic converse branding is appears on the upper, heel, and back of the midsole and “WEAPON” appears across the tongue.
