Beyonce Makes British Fans’ DREAM Come True, ATTEMPTS Duet With ROYALTY
May 1st

As she treks across the UK, Beyonce’s been "surprising" fans and singing with royalty. Find out about her UK niceties inside…
During her recent jaunt through the UK, Beyonce made the dreams of two very lucky fans come true. Rob McGuire, a 16-year-old fan, just happened to be in the parking lot of Newbury Retail Park when the Queen Bey and her entourage walked by. After making eye contact with Mrs. Carter, he politely asked her to speak via phone to one of her biggest fans. He described the incident to Newbury Today,
She had bodyguards with her. She was wearing dark glasses and a hooded top, but I was fairly positive it was her. I called my friend because she is a huge fan. I didn’t want to be rude and just walk up to her. But then she walked right near me. I looked at one of the bodyguards and he looked at me, and then I looked at Beyoncé and just asked ‘would you speak to my mate, she’s your biggest fan?’ and she took the phone.”
Moments later, not only had Rob met one of the biggest stars in the world, but he paid it forward and had Mrs. Carter speak to his bestie , 17-year-old Brandy Funderburk, too. And during his brief encounter, Rob asked Bey why she decided to name of daughter Ivy, and she told him that the number 4 is her favorite number and IV is the Roman Numeral for "4."
And if that tidbit wasn’t enough to last a life time…Rob and Brandy also received two tickets to Bey’s sold out show at the O2 arena. Brandy said,
“I told Beyoncé that I’d been trying to get tickets for ages, and asked her was there any way to get them – and she said we could have two. It was amazing. It was so nice of her. She said she would have someone bring them round within four hours. I don’t know if I was really expecting the tickets to turn up.”
But two hours later, Rob reported….
"I was at home, there was a knock on the door and Beyoncé’s assistant was on the doorstep. I wanted to hug her – but I didn’t. I wasn’t sure about telling people, I didn’t want to seem ungrateful, but I really wanted to tell them thanks. People still don’t believe it."
And when she wasn’t making dreams come true, Bey was putting royalty on the spot as Princess Eugenie (the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah, Duchess of York) found out. During Monday night’s show at the O2, Bey went out to the audience and pointed the mic towards fans and tried to get the princess to sing the lyrics to "Irreplaceable."
The British press said Princess Eugenie was totally embarrassed and missed her cue….but all had fun laughing about it later. And for the record, Beyonce had no idea that she was singing with a princess.

The Mrs. Carter Show world tour continues at The O2 until May 5th before moving to the Manchester Arena until May 9th.

Beyonce’s April 4th Mystery DATE Announcement, More British Vogue Pics, & Why She Calls Herself A ‘Modern Feminist’
Apr 3rd

You’ve seen the sneak peek of her brand new British Vogue cover, now check out a few inside shots of Mrs. Carter Knowles…and why she says she’s more confident than ever.
Plus, Beyonce releases a mini video announcing a mysterious 4/4/2013 date…..

In new shots from her May 2013 British Vogue cover spread, Beyonce keeps it minimal and understated in her curls and natural makeup look. She’s rocking plush comfy sweaters, tanks, casually sexy skirts and striped crop tops with a touch of glam for her spread.

And in her second Vogue cover of 2013, Blue‘s mom is talking about her role in feminism, and her newfound confidence thanks to becoming a mom.
On if she considers herself a feminist: "That word can be very extreme…But I guess I am a modern-day feminist. I do believe in equality. Why do you have to choose what type of woman you are? Why do you have to label yourself anything? I’m just a woman and I love being a woman…’I do believe in equality and that we have a way to go and it’s something that’s pushed aside and something that we have been conditioned to accept. But I’m happily married. I love my husband."
On her newfound confidence: "I feel like Mrs Carter is who I am, but more bold and more fearless than I’ve ever been. It comes from knowing my purpose and really meeting myself once I saw my child. I was like, "OK, this is what you were born to do." The purpose of my body became completely different."
On whether she’s supportive of daughter Blue Ivy becoming an entertainer: "I definitely want my daughter to have goals and drive and passion – it has to be a balance."
The issue hits stands Monday, May 8th.
This morning, Beyonce posted a 6 second video of herself looking photo shoot or video fresh in a sexy & edgy look walking toward the camera, and announcing a 4/4/13 date.
No details on what’s going down on that date, other than her 5 year wedding anniversary with Jay-Z, but Mrs. C says #BeyHereNow. A Pepsi commercial? A new single? A new album? A new announcement? Who the hell knows. But it’s likely something big since she’s using her favorite number….
Rihanna Named #1 POP Star By British TV, Fires A Few Shots
Mar 29th

Put ya guns in the air….Rihanna‘s on a firing spree. After she was named Britain’s #1 Pop star, she gave her own rant to other chicks in the game. Check it inside…
Rihanna celebrated on Instagram today after a British music tv station named her the Most Influential Pop Star. The UK’s 4Music channel based their decision on social media activity, air play and press coverage.
Similar to MTV’s Hottest MC’s List (like many pissed rappers believe), Britain’s list didn’t include talent or quality of music. And while we know Rihanna lives out her life on Instagram with no guards up, releases most tracks off her albums as singles and stays in the press with her fun and sometimes controversial antics, it’s understandable why she’s deemed #1 by the music channel.
Beyonce came in at #2 and Katy Perry (Rih’s good friend) landed at #4.
But not everybody’s happy for the Rude Gal. Some folks went off when they saw Rihanna’s announcement on Instagram….and her words that went with it.

Rihanna said she could use a challenge, and asked how it felt to be down there on ya knees. She clowned about controlling your heauxs and owning this lane. And in usual Rih Rih form, it was pretty hilar.
But a few Beyonce stans and Ciara stans (remember that beef with CiCi?) took to her page to go off commenting:
#BEYHIVE BEEN ON BXTCH
and
Whoa ho ho bad gal rih just learned how to master the three octaves she can sing now we all must get on our knees alright alright im bowing! Lol congrats tho always nice to see success
And Rih’s fans replied with statements like:
Bow down bitchez. Lol! #PourItUp #whosthequeen #phuckyohaterz
Rih also said, "It’s only March people… #2013isalreadyowned #staytuned #MoneyOvaBitchez."
Was this Rih’s answer to Bey’s "Bow Down"? Who knows…especially because Beyonce never said the song was only aimed to women in the industry as opposed to her haters in general. However, Rihanna’s statement seemed aimed soley at her peers. But certainly not ALL her peers since her bestie is in the top 3 as well. But you decide…
Either way, we hope Rih pours some up and celebrates. Congrats.

OKC Thunder BALLER Russell Westbrook COVERS “COMPLEX” April/May Issue +A$AP Rocky’s “L’UOMO VOGUE” Spread + MORE Idris Elba “British GQ” PICS
Mar 12th

Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook covers the latest issue of COMPLEX. See what he says about his flair for fashion inside, and see pics from A$AP Rocky’s "L’Uomo Vouge" shoot and more pics from Idris Elba’s "British GQ" spread…

In the April/May issue of COMPLEX Magazine, OKC Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook talked to the magazine about his off-court flair for fashion, which has attracted the attention of the fashion world. Here are the highlights:
On his fearless approach to fashion:
“If you think about what other people say, then you have a problem. “When it comes to dressing up, a lot of people are worried what others think. You just gotta go with it.”
On being a non-conformist:
“I take risks, but I don’t think of it that way.”
On his mother’s influence on his attraction to clothes:
“That’s where it all started…She used to shop for us growing up. But then it got to a point where I was so picky about my clothes that she stopped shopping for me. I had a sense of the style I was gravitating to. I worked for stuff I couldn’t afford.”
On fashion’s finer things:
“Some people may be scared to wear something. I obviously don’t care.”
On wearing glases with no lense:
“No lenses at all. It’s my own flair, man. I know what looks right and what looks crazy.”
On having an "eye" for what looks right:
“It’s natural for me now. I don’t leave the house like, ‘Oh, let me get something crazy.’ I just go with it and see what happens.”
Check out Russell’s photos here:

And in "L’Uomo Vogue"…

Trend-setting rappar A$AP Rocky posed for a shoot with "L’Uomo Vogue" shot by Francesco Carrozzini, where he talked to the magazine about growing up in Harlem and its influence on his style.
“I’ve always been interested in fashion, since when I was a kid and used to shop on 5th Avenue. But the real leap in quality occurred when I was 16 years old. I immediately loved Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, and Gucci. Nevertheless, my approach has always been spontaneous, based on a sort of fashion sense that lets me blend haute couture with streetwear."

He also commented on the changing scope of the hip hop industry and how it is influenced by fashion. "I want this period to be remembered as the ‘Platinum Age’ or ‘Diamond Age’. Currently, there’s a new artist movement that’s rewriting the rules of hip hop and I’m their leader, king, and emperor, that’s for sure. I’m the future of this genre”.
Despite his love of garments, A$AP said he won’t be launching his own clothing line anytime soon. “In the future I could cooperate with a brand. Beyond that, since I’m not a designer I prefer leaving that task to professionals and to focus on music…this is the dawn of a new movement."
And in the March 2013 issue of British GQ……

We’ve got more pics from Idris Elba’s March 2013 photoshoot.

Inside the mag, Idris said he was flattered by all of the "James Bond" talk.

atmos x Reebok Insta Pump Fury – “Snake & British Camo”
Feb 15th

As follow-up to its Nike Air Max 1 “Animal Camo” Pack, Tokyo-base retailer atmos will be introducing another “pattern on pattern” design, the atmos x Reebok Insta Pump Fury “Snake & British Camo”. Seemingly an odd combination of designs at first, atmos’ creative team explained that the amalgamation actually reflects several aspects. First of course it the celebration of Chinese New Year and the year’s zodiac sign as the Year of the Snake. The “British camo” design element honors Reebok, which was formerly a British company before American investor Paul Fireman brought it in 1979. Limited in availability, the atmos x Reebok Insta Pump Fury “Snake & British Camo” will be available at around middle of March.
Release Date: Mid-March 2013

Idris Elba Is Pure SEX On British GQ’s March 2013 Cover + LL Cool J Opens Up About Helping Wife Simone Battle Cancer
Feb 5th

We can’t think of that many more better ways to kickstart the morning than with sexy pics of Idris Elba. The British actor is covering the pages of the March 2013 British GQ magazine. We’ve got the pics and quotes bout how he uncomfortable he feels about his sex symbol status. Plus, LL Cool J covers Essence mag and opens up about standing by his wife….
Sounds like Idris needs someone to wipe away his insecurities and remind him of his sexiness. I’m sure he won’t have any trouble finding someone to fill that role. The newest British GQ cover guy is posing it up for The Cool Issue. And he’s all about his motorcycle, leather, and….effortless sexiness.

But in his cover story, the "Luther" star seems to doubt where this whole sex symbol status came from. Here are the highlights:
On responding to people finding him incredibly sexy
‘The irony is I wake up every morning, look at myself in the mirror and think, “Woah, I look like a piece of s***”,’ said the Hackney lad turned Hollywood superstar. ‘You watch yourself age and it’s hard to feel like a sex symbol.’
On responding to the female fans who fawn over him
‘I’m not sure what it is they see, not to mention that, personally, I feel very awkward. There’s no way all those women would ever sleep with me and go, “I really liked him”. Some of them would go, “He was really boring or he was a bit aggressive or, urgh, actor.” But it’s a compliment and it’s a massive tool to use in sculpting a career, especially with what I do for a living because I work in the face business. So it’s a compliment and I use it accordingly.’
On playing the next James Bond
It’s a rumour. And, I have to tell you, if the producers of Bond thought that I was self-campaigning, it would be such a turn-off. I’m flattered, obviously but I’ve been advised to just pipe down about it.’
‘Apparently, Daniel Craig said I’d be a great Bond. Daniel, why did you say that? Dropped me right in it! What an honour it would be, but also, what an indication of change. I know Ian Fleming lived in Jamaica for a long time, didn’t he? I think it’s interesting to think what he would have made of a black man playing Bond.’
Please let this James Bond rumor come to life. Anywho, this issue hits stands February 7th. Check out GQ for more pics and quotes.

In other magazine news, LL Cool J is covering the March 2013 issue of ESSENCE Magazine. And he’s opening up about the diffcult times he and his wife of 18 years, Simone, dealt with due to her cancer battle.
“I think, at the end of the day, as a man, you should support the woman you’re with. If she’s got a dream, you need to help make that a reality. I’m doing the best I can to do that…”
By the way, his show "NCIS: Los Angeles" is one of the most top rated shows on tv. And he’s been doing his thin in this business or over 30 years. Respect.

Crane.tv: Street Style and the Modern British Man
Jan 4th
Street styles draw influence from various places. It is arguably the designer’s job to target these influences and translate them into something tangible for the consumer. Crane.tv, the British video magazine, has an interesting piece which documents two conversations with modern designers: Katie Eary and Agi & Sam. Both parties speak on their favorite fashion influences, touch on how style transcends domestic boundaries and what goes into their creative process. Interspersed throughout the video are clips of pro BMX rider Kenzo de Witte, who rides around the streets of North London geared with some pieces from both designers’ latest collections.
