The Nike Zoom Kobe Venomenon 4 brings Hyperfuse and Flywire together on the upper, supported by Zoom cushioning. The sneaker carries black as its dominant color, with dark grey helping out on the lace fixture, eyelets, inner lining, heel counter and toebox detail. Hits of gold and crimson provide pop on the logos, laces, lower Flywire cables and outsole. For ballers who like to take their game outdoors, the outsole has an abrasion-resistant material with Blade pattern for enhanced traction.
Available in stores and online Saturday.
On Saturday, January 4, Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks will be given a special honor that only one athlete on Jordan brand before him has received. For the first time, an athlete who is not named Michael Jordan will have his signature model “retroed” by Jordan brand. The Jordan Melo 1.5 Retro “Black/University Blue” has been debuted on court numerous times by Melo so far but the public will be able to get their very own pair this Saturday. The release marks the 10 year anniversary of the shoe’s original release, in it’s original Denver Nuggets inspired colorway where Carmelo played for the first 7.5 years of his career. The Melo 1.5 features a black nubuck upper with university blue smooth leather overlays on the toe and heel. These kicks were also featured in our commercial with Melo celebrating the 23 Days of Flight Campaign, which you can view below.
The Jordan Melo Retro 1.5 Black/University Blue will drop on Saturday, January 4 at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker, and online at Footlocker.com (starting at 8:00 a.m. EST) for $ 120. Check the Launch Locator to see which stores will have this release.
The Jordan Melo 1.5 Black/University Blue was the first signature shoe to be released from Carmelo Anthony and the blue suggests that it was to be paired with his Denver Nuggets uniform at the time. The sneaker sports a jet black synthetic suede upper with University blue on the heel-overlay, toe and their corresponding sections on the outsole. With this being the first Jordan Brand retro release of the year, it seems as if we’ll be seeing waves of more retro’s other than MJ’s coming from the brand.
These sneakers release in stores and online Saturday. Check out Release Locator for stores.
