Check out both of Kanye’s rock-style performances where he’s bringing his social consciousness to the world, plus his new album artwork for Yeezus….
‘Ye debuted an interesting track called "Black Skinhead" on "SNL". And through all of the screaming and slight auto-tune, we could tell he was saying some powerful ish. While images of fire, political slogans, advertisements and more played in the background (one said "Not For Sale"), Kanye was on 100 living the crowd a rock-style performance.
And if you’re thinking that all dude needed was black nails and lipstick and we could have mistaken him for Marilyn Manson for that performance, you’re not too far off. The music reportedly sampled a Marilyn Manson song. Check out his performance of "Black Skinhead" above.

By the way, Virgil (Kanye’s right hand) posted the lyrics to the track saying Kanye literally wrote "Black Skinhead" minutes before his performance. Luckily the network let him perform that piece on live TV (y’all know they like to know what they’re getting before something airs live).
And here’s his other performance from the night, "New Slaves." This performance comes one day after Kanye showed the visuals for the track guerrilla style in 66 cities around the world….projected against buildings.
Your thoughts? Scary genius…or just scary?
According to his girlfriend Kim Kardashian’s latest Instagram pic, the Chi-Town native’s upcoming album is called Yeezus (of course) and will be released June 18th. Kim posted the album artwork below saying, "#Yeezus #RedYeezy’s #SNL #Tonight #NewSlaves #YeezySeason #Donda #June18"

Janet Jackson Announces New Album Plans
May 18th

It’s been 20 years since Janet Jackson released her fifth album janet. On the anniversary, she looks back on the iconic project and shares her plans for the future.
The pop icon, who secretly wed Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Mana last year, reminisced on her 1993 album, which sold 7 million copies and spawned six Billboard Hot 100 singles.
“I can’t believe it is already 20 years!” the 47-year-old singer told Billboard. “I always write my music based on what is going on in my life at the time. I wanted to allow people in… I want my fans to really know me. The janet. album was sexual and I was beginning to really discover that side of me.”
Despite a five-year absence from music, Janet is back in the studio working on her first album since 2008’s Discipline. She is still in the early stages and is in no rush to release it.
“I am working on a new project now. We are creating the concept and initial thoughts on the music,” she said. “I am excited about the direction we are taking. I don’t want to rush it… I don’t want to put a time constraint on the creative process.”
She also gave the stamp of approval to Kendrick Lamar, who sampled her janet. single “Any Time, Any Place” on his hit “Poetic Justice.” “I have listened to the music that is out there and I love Kendrick’s ‘Poetic Justice,’” said Janet, who also enjoys Adele and Bruno Mars. “There are artists, true performers that have come before me who have been a big inspiration to me. I hope I do the same for others.”

Kanye West to Release New Album ‘Yeezus’ on June 18
May 18th

Yeezus is coming. After much anticipation, Kanye West will release his sixth solo album next month.
Rap-Up.com can confirm that the follow-up to 2010’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy will be titled Yeezus and arrive on June 18.
The G.O.O.D. Music rapper premiered a new song entitled “New Slaves” last night via projections on buildings in 10 cities across the world. The song, about modern day slavery, features vocals from Frank Ocean.
The 35-year-old West stirred speculation about the June 18 date with a tweet earlier this month.
During a trip to New York last month, the father-to-be stopped by his label Def Jam to play music. Hot 97 host Peter Rosenberg described the album as having a “dark” tone. “Everyone at the label listened to the album and loved it,” he said. “I heard it’s dark, but really good.”
Details surrounding his recording sessions remain scarce, but he has been in the studio with Daft Punk, who programmed drums for the album. “It was very raw: he was rapping—kind of screaming primally, actually,” Thomas Bangalter of the French duo told Rolling Stone. “Kanye doesn’t give a fuck.”
Kanye is expected to premiere new material during tonight’s season finale of “Saturday Night Live.”

Candice Glover Wins ‘American Idol,’ Readies Debut Album for July
May 17th

Candice Glover joined Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia, and Jordin Sparks by becoming the newest “American Idol.” Only hours after the confetti fell from the “Idol” stage, the South Carolina singer had already announced her debut album.
The 23-year-old excursions coordinator from St. Helena Island beat out country singer Kree Harrison in Thursday’s finale and performed a duet with her idol Jennifer Hudson.
Glover, who cites Jazmine Sullivan and Christina Aguilera as inspirations, auditioned three times before winning. She was still soaking in the surreal moment.
“I don’t remember [Ryan Seacrest] saying my name,” Glover told The AP. “I do remember confetti getting in my mouth.”
The vocal powerhouse has signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/Interscope Records and will release her full-length debut Music Speaks on July 16. The album is available for pre-order on iTunes featuring her coronation song “I Am Beautiful.”
Glover will hit the road with her fellow “Idol” contestants on the “American Idol” summer tour, kicking off June 29 in St. Louis. She is also set to visit “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” and “Live! With Kelly & Michael” during her press tour.

Rick Ross & Birdman Releasing Joint Album [VIDEO]
May 17th
Did you know, or care, that back in 2008 Rick Ross and Birdman created a gang of songs that haven’t seen the light of day? The MMG and YMCMB honchos have announced that they will be dropping the first volume of said work, titled The H: The Lost Album, Vol. 1, on May 23.
DJ Khaled will serve as the album/mixtape’s host. Derick G caught up with the two rappers on the set of the “Started From The Bottom” video shoot in Miami, where they offered a few details of the album’s creation.
“This is a project me and Stunna did maybe in three days,” recalls Rozay. The Cash Money honcho then added, “We probably did 40 songs in less than 10 days.”
Call us pessimists but can we expect much quality if the music is being created at such a fast clip? We trust someone will be double checking their lyrics for any lines that will piss off any of their political connects. Also, will there be the addition of a new song to serve as a diss track going at Reebok and Mountain Dew? Probably not.

Wale Gets Set In Stone For The Gifted Album Cover
May 16th

Wale’s third album The Gifted arrives on June 25 and above is what you can expect to see on the shelves in just over a month. I’m tired of y’all rappers like, ‘I got four joints for the ladies, I got two for the club, I got three inspirational,’ … Nah, paint a picture, show me wassup.” Word.
