”Every Day I Give Blessings”
Rapper Lil Kim seems to have put music on the back burner, but the veteran rhymer revealed in an interview just why there are other things in her life that are taking her attention away from recording. Kim is committed to helping her family, and she revealed just how deep her love for her relatives goes. “People around me know I do good. Mom lived with me until I went away,” she says. “She’s now in Delaware. My father had ex-wife troubles. Also health issues. He shakes. Spills coffee and food. We have to cook for him, pour his juice. His sickness wasn’t diagnosed, but it’s a small case of Alzheimer’s. I know about ‘Honor Thy Father and Mother.’ My father and I were estranged, but I’ve taken him in. He lives with me. ”I’m Gonna Help Her Get Her Dream Out”
Rita Ora’s star continues to rise. The sexy starlet is one of the most promising up-and-comers in music, and her Roc Nation family is fully behind her push for superstardom. Roc Nation head Jay-Z revealed his enthusiasm for Ora, and why he wanted to have the British singer under his umbrella. “She’s one of the people that, if you were in the position, you say, ‘I’m gonna help her get her dream out and then we’ll see what happens,’ ” Jay-Z told MTV News. “I think her energy is infectious, because out the gate, two #1s in London and she’ll just continue to grow from there.” Ora has already become one of the year’s most talked-about newcomers since joining Roc Nation last year. |
Curren$y Links With 2 Chainz On Stoned Immaculate’s ‘Capitol’
May 17th

By Carter Maness
Ultra-prolific New Orleans native Curren$y is gearing-up for the release of his new studio album The Stoned Immaculate on June 5 via Warner Bros. Records, and today he dropped a new 2 Chainz-featuring single entitled “Capitol.”
The track streamlines Spitta’s floaty, super-chill approach with blunted bass and flutes. He stays in his comfort zone of weed, women, fine automobiles and vacationing while 2 Chainz continues his 2012 dominance over a beat that’s far more relaxed than his usual material. Chainz has been running across the rap world all year, recently collaborating with everyone from Nicki Minaj and Drake to Kanye West and Kreayshawn.
“Capitol” is the third track to surface from The Stoned Immaculate. It follows the Wale-featuring “What It Look Like” and a collaboration with Das entitled “Fast Cars Faster Women.”
And while the record is Spitta’s official major label follow-up to 2011′s Weekend At Burnie’s, the always-busy rapper has since released the Verde Terrace mixtape with DJ Drama, a free EP during this year’s Super Bowl called Here and the most recent #The1st28 EP with New York legend Styles P.

Lil’ Kim Talks Nicki Minaj, Azealia Banks, & Scott Storch on ‘The Breakfast Club’
May 17th

Lil’ Kim didn’t hold back when showed up for an interview with “The Breakfast Club” on Power 105.1. The Queen Bee, who is currently playing shows across the country on her “Return of the Queen” tour, had the studio buzzing about her beef with Nicki Minaj, relationship with Scott Storch (“I would have married him”), claims about Biggie’s mother Voletta Wallace (“She didn’t know him”), and latest scuffle with Azealia Banks. Watch the heated conversation below.
On Junior M.A.F.I.A.: “A majority of them is the reason why I went to prison. I’m not gonna say all of them because there was one person who basically did what they were supposed to do. But it is what it is at this point.”
On Scott Storch: “I love Scott. I would have married him. He’s a good person. I don’t even think he knew who he was talking to when I reached out to him. He has so many horrible people around him. Scott spoiled me, he treated me like a queen, but the thing is he thought he had to do all these lavish things. We were living in Coconut Grove… And as soon as we went to Miami Beach, we started arguing and fighting and everything was horrible. Scott wanted to marry me, he gave me a huge pink diamond ring and it killed me to give it back. I was like yes, but not now. He was so upset.”
On why they broke up: “I was on my way to prison and he wanted me to move to Miami officially. I didn’t see the reason I had to move out there when I had all this going on.”
On Foxy Brown: “I don’t even know her. I don’t know who she is these days. I wouldn’t even know what her voice sounds like.”
On her relationship with Biggie: “I would never get involved deeply like that with a married man. I know he loved me to death, but it’s just not a good aura.”
On Voletta Wallace: “Big’s mom doesn’t know Biggie. And she barely knows Christopher. She used to kick him out daily. She did not care to know him or get to know him. Don’t get me wrong, he loved his mother and I’m pretty sure as a mom she loved her son, but she didn’t know him.
On Nicki Minaj: “How come when I come up at these places, they wanna ask me these questions, but they don’t wanna ask her? She has a way of trying to avoid the situation and ya’ll let her do it, but it’s OK. The last time ya’ll asked her was probably when it was very fresh. [Charlamagne] was on her album so it only made sense.
“She started releasing all these records doing her vocals the way I did my vocals. I played a record for Slim called “Automatic.” It’s a St. Tropez, dance type of record. Three years ago I played him this record. On her new album, she has a song called “Automatic” and the song is so similar to the song that I played for Slim.
“Whether my fans would have liked that sound or not, it was my sound. I brought that sound to the table. The problem with her is she was very catty with it. I never had a problem with her. I was always nice with her—always. She was a very obnoxious person, but I was always nice with her.
“Every single record she’s made was coming at me. Everybody who knows music knows in that Puffy record ["Hello Good Morning"] she was coming at me. I didn’t say nothing about this chick at the time. She was coming at me in all the records she was doing, the Jay and Kanye West ["Monster"].
“I’m not saying she’s a horrible artist, but I definitely think she’s overrated. She’s not a horrible artist to me at all.”
On putting an end to their feud: “It’s not gonna happen… You will see. Everything in the dark comes to the light.”
On Azealia Banks: “I never met this girl a day in my life. I never talked to this chick, she don’t know what I sound like. I don’t know what she sound like on the phone. I think it’s in chicks’ contracts when they come out, you gotta go at Lil’ Kim.”

Rocsi And Terrence J Leave 106 & Park
May 17th
After nearly seven years of hosting BET’s top-rated countdown, 106 & Park, Terrence J and Rocsi have decided to leave the show. The duo won their gigs after a public audition process, but according to the New York Post, they’re looking to pursue acting on a full-time basis. Terrence J, real named Terrence Jenkins, had a recurring role on BET’s The Game, and appeared in the film Think Like A Man. Meanwhile, Rocsi— last name Diaz— is said to be moving to California, and landed a role in a film starring Lynn Whitfield.
Since getting the job with BET in 2006, Terrance and Rocsi filled the void left by previous hosts, Free and A.J. Over the years the daily show has become a go-to spot for just about everyone in music, including the likes of Kanye West, Mac Miller, and Rick Ross.
At press time, reps for BET and Terrence J did not respond to a request for comment.
