Nicki Minaj “Right By My Side” Ft. Chris Brown [VIDEO]

Nicki Minaj’s “Right By My Side” single has hit the ‘Net, and the Young Money star is getting extra close with fellow Queens rapper Nas. Minaj casts Nas as her love interest in the video for the Chris Brown-assisted track. It’s kind of awkward watching Nas and Nicki tongue wrestle, but it’s all for the good of her craft.

”I Just Gotta Do Me”
DMX has endured several false starts over the last few years as he’s attempted to restart his once white-hot rap career, but the emcee says that he’s more focused on music than he’s ever been. Professionalism, says X, is the name of the game right now. “It’s a good thing. I wish it was always like that but you can’t really worry about what people think, what they say. I just gotta do me,” said X. “The focus is on taking the music seriously, as a job, and less trouble.” “Everywhere I go people are like, ‘When’s the album droppin? When’s the album droppin’?'” X says. “So I was just like, lemme hit ‘em with something, let them know, give them a little appetizer of what it’s gonna be like. Not the same songs, because I’m sitting on like three albums right now, but ya know, just what it’s gonna be like.” |
MTV’s Hip Hop POV Finale: Waka Flocka Admits Wiz Khalifa Beef Was Over Weed

Tonight’s season finale episode of MTV’s “Hip Hop POV” (airs midnight ET) is filled with reveals and insider gossip. Waka Flocka Flame opens up about his beef with fellow rapper Wiz Khalifa. Despite appearing on the same episode of Hip Hop POV a few weeks ago, the buzzy rappers have not been the best of friends. In a sit-down with Def Jam’s Bu Thiam, Flocka says that it was weed of all things, that sparked the feud, as the two were smoking and Wiz couldn’t hang.
Wiz then took to Twitter and threw shots at Waka but the “Round of Applause” rapper has “no problem” now with Wiz. Wiz echoed this sentiment in an interview with “RapFix Live” last month, saying, “I don’t have problems with people, because if I do, I address it. If I feel someone disrespected me or if I feel like somebody was mentioning me in an indirect way I’ma find out how to talk to that person and then we’ll squash it from there.”
The Kang, T.I., also stops by for a candid interview with the crew. He talks about his upcoming album Trouble Man, his disregard for music blogs (He’s too high for them!) and shares that his protege Iggy Azalea is no longer signed to Interscope. Iggy inked a much-talked about deal with the label earlier this year. Although Tip wouldn’t say what label she will ultimately align with and release her debut, The New Classic, through he says that he’s open to both a major or indie deal.
Rounding out the night, Black Hippy’s ScHoolboy Q makes a rare primetime appearance and Travis Porter gets the crowd ramped up with a high-energy performance.

The Benny Boom-directed clip starring Chris and Nas will debut tonight at 6:56 p.m. EST on BET, Fuse, MTV Jams, MTV Hits, and mtvU, followed by the online premiere at 7 p.m. EST on VEVO.

”They Gonna See What I’m Really Here For”
Rapper Lil Boosie beat a murder charge last week and many of his fans and supporters celebrated. No one was happier than Boosie’s daughter, Iviona Hatch, who spoke at length about how she’s been feeling and revealed her own musical ambitions once Daddy gets home. “I’m feelin’ like I ain’t been havin’ no appetite. I ain’t had no appetite Friday, none Saturday, really. The first thing when he comes home — get that money,” she said in a video. “When he come home and we do [get together]…you think my songs go hard? You put both of us together, it’s gonna be real hard. Super hard. … [People] gonna see me rock the mic. They gonna see what I’m really here for. They’re gonna see a mini version of Boosie, a mini version of Boosie.” |
Florida Judge Allows Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell To Coach Football Team

Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell is no stranger to controversy brought on by his music, but more than two decades after his first 2 Live Crew album, the rapper is still getting into trouble over his lyrics. A Florida judge has approved Campbell’s request to coach a football team, after the state refused him certification on the basis of his music’s “raunchy lyrics,” and his “string of arrests.”
The one-time mayoral candidate, has been volunteering as an assistant coach, but officials still saw his past as reason enough to not allow him to officially work in Florida schools. Judge Robert Meale countered the officials’ claims by noting that criminal charges against Campbell were dropped, with the exception of two misdemeanor crimes, committed over 25 years ago.
Campbell has tried to shake the negative reputation brought on by his explicit music, but has not always been successful. Last year, he was embroiled in a Ponzi scheme involving the University of Miami, but has denied any wrongdoing in the matter.

Rapper Mac Miller has recorded with a local Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania fan who is suffering from T-cell lymphoma.18-year old Bobby Stewart met mac in December after the rapper donated ,000 to the Make A Wish Foundation. The two collaborated on a new track at ID Labs. “To be with Mac is a blessing. Heâs lyrically amazing,â said Stewart. âHip hop is my passion. So to be able to be with Mac Miller, whoâs a Pittsburgh legend… Wiz Khalifa shoutout.” “Feeling like your music really does something for the world makes it all worth it, no matter what,” added Mac. “From now on, no matter what happens for the rest of my life, no one can take that away from me.” |
Did ‘Basketball Wives’ Purse-Snatching Season Finale Go Too Far?

This week, Basketball Wives went left, as VH1′s Tami Roman would say. Yes, the popular reality TV show is known to kick off an epi with vase-hurling, hair-pulling, clutch-smacking brawls, but on Monday, something just wasn’t right. To alleviate ongoing tensions among the NBA (ex-) Wives, castmate and executive producer Shaunie O’Neal cooked up another one of her, um, relaxing group getaways—this time to Tahiti.
Basketball Wives’ Tami Roman On Newcomers Kenya, Kesha
So Shaunie, Evelyn, Tami, Suzie and newbie Kesha packed their Louis bags and headed to the South Pacific for some R&R, with plans for fellow “Wives” Kenya and Jennifer to follow.
Not long after arriving, the ladies gathered at a bar for shots and appetizers, and things seemed to be all right. Ex-New Jersey Nets dancer Kesha made small talk, asking the women how they met, the highs and lows of their year … harmless enough, right? Wrong. The line of questioning hit Tami in a bad way, more like an “interview” she said, than a conversation, and she was having none of it.
Kenny Anderson’s ex-wife had a few questions of her own, namely, why had Kesha continued to vent her frustration with Tami to others instead of confronting the MTV “Real World” alum directly. Unsatisfied with Kesha’s attempts to throw water on things, and with blabby Suzie suddenly mum, things quickly escalated.
What followed was one of the most ridiculous reality TV segments we’ve seen in a long time: Tami took Kesha’s purse (including wallet and phone) hostage and vowed not to return it until the ex-dancer groveled and begged for it back. Too frightened for her safety, Kesha locked herself in her bungalow, a grown-ass woman reduced to a sniveling terrified mess. Incredibly, this brought Evelyn “You Ain’t About That Life” Lozado to tears, too. She and Shaunie pleaded with Tami to show Kesha some mercy—to no avail. We caught a replay of the ep around midnight on Monday, and Twitter was still ablaze. Die-hard fans were calling on VH1, the reality gods, anyone to put a stop to this.
Looks like the ladies knew a backlash was coming though, rumor has it the reunion special will address all the madness, even rumors that Tami might not be back for a fifth season. Stay tuned.
