Odd Future Show Ends Early in Detroit After Bottles Thrown
May 17th

Odd Future is quickly building a reputation for its rowdy live shows and appearances these days, as the LA-based music collective had to breakout after the disorderly crowd at last night’s show in Detroit began hurling glass bottles on stage. It all began during the set’s opening minutes, when a bottle was tossed from the crowd which nearly hit the group’s DJ, Syd the Kyd. After that took place Tyler, the Creator and Hodgy Beats tried to diffuse the crowd and told them to cool out. That peace treaty apparently went in one ear and out the other, as another bottle was tossed on stage an hour later, at which point grazed the cheek of group member Domo Genesis. Tyler then gave out the final warning to the crowd if another bottle was thrown they’d leave the stage, and apparently another another bottle was tossed on stage just seconds after, forcing Odd Future to leave set.

James Blake – Lindesfarne
May 17th
After releasing a new instrumental track, “Give a Man a Rad”, last week, James Blake returns with the third official music video to accompany his critically acclaimed, self-titled debut studio album. Like much of the album, “Lindesfarne I” and “Lindesfarne II” are mellow, simplistic, electro-infused songs that Blake produced himself. The video to “Lindesfarne” combines the end of part I’s audio with all of part II and purveys an interesting story line. It’s set around a group—or cult, perhaps—of friends that engage in strange rituals and focuses on the special relationships that they each have with each other. If you can get past the spit drinking and paint smearing, what’s your take on the video’s meaning? Watch it above and feel free to discuss in the comment section below.
