Nike Kobe 9 Elite ‘BHM’
Jan 17th
As Black History Month approaches, it’s only right for Nike to come out with a Kobe 9 Elite original celebrating the occasion. Nike has decided to release a black and white version of the Kobe 9 Elite, which will feature a Flyknit upper decorated with a miscellany of high contrast black and white pixel patterns, atop with a fresh white sole unit. The simplistic of the black and white decorated with an intertwining of black and white shades, along with white more dominant on its inner lateral side, and black prominent on the outer, makes the shoe that much more dynamic. The “BHM” pattern will be along the rear that will lead up to the collar.
Available in stores and online Monday. Check out Release Locator for stores.

Nike Air Python
Jan 15th
To spruce up the return of the Nike Air Python, the revamped sneaker sports a new layer of skin for the latest rendition. For its original release, the Air Python borrowed design cues from the Air Jordan II and the Air Force II and quickly caught the attention of those enamored by fashion. Constructed to today’s standards, the new Air Python removes excessive padding in the collar and tongue to deliver a premium fit. The most defining feature of the shoe is the all-over embossed snakeskin upper which coordinates with a white midsole and sail accents over the laces, collar lining and eyelets. To cap it off, the sneaker sits above a gum rubber outsole.
Available in stores and online Saturday. Check out Release Locator for stores.
Nike LeBron 12 “23 Chromosomes”
Jan 14th
LeBron James returned from injury to the Cavs lineup this week, just in time for this weekend’s release of the Nike LeBron 12 “23 Chromosomes.” The “23 Chromosomes” release is officially a Black/Pink Pow/Blue Lagoon/Black colorway but there is a much deeper story behind the design of the shoe.
Via Nike:
Basketball is in LeBron James’ DNA. The newest colorway of the LeBron 12 is inspired by his superhuman ability, with a colorful stylized interpretation of DNA gel-readings on the Hyperposite upper.
This release isn’t the first to feature intricate designs on the upper but it is definitely among the loudest utilizing a colorway that is intentionally eye catching.
The Nike LeBron 12 “23 Chromosomes” drops on Saturday, January 17 at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker stores and Footlocker.com (starting at 10:00 a.m. EST) for $ 200. Nike KD VII EXT ‘Longhorn State’
Jan 9th
The Nike KD VII EXT ‘Longhorn State’ is a sneaker that honors the state of Texas, where Kevin Durant played his college ball. The sneaker’s upper is comprised of pony hair and adds a distinct aesthetic to the shoe right off the bat. To add contrast, Black is present on the suede-flocked midsole and mid-foot strap, while black leather also lines in the inside of the shoe. Representing the intersection of premium-fashion and athletic design, this sneaker is a nice change of pace from the traditional Kevin Durant signature shoe.
