Celebrity Rewind: Wale Premiers “Eggplant” Foamposite One in LRG Ad

Different label, different haircut, same Wale. In 2008, LRG featured the young MC in a print ad published in Dime Magazine. The progressive spread saw Folarin draped in LRG from head to ankle donning the never-before-worn “Eggplant” Nike Air Foamposite One. The purple pair stole the show for sneakerheads while adding buzz to the budding artist and brand. Wale would become synonymous with Foamposite and the sneaker would eventually release twice.
Fast forward to 2011. Foamposite has moved from the nation’s capitol to the national market. 100 miles and running, ten plus releases and counting.
On a related note RIP to Jonas Bevacqua, co-founder of LRG. Your work continues to inspire.

Shanell Pushes Subtlety in ‘My Button’ Video

Shanell may have made listeners blush with her sensual single “My Button,” but the Young Money singer-songwriter is toning things down with the accompanying music video.
A clip for the song, which will appear on her upcoming debut, has been shot and is currently in post production. “It is fun. I tried to make sure that I got the message across without being too [provocative],” she tells Rap-Up.com. “It’s like I’m saying it without saying it so I wanted the video to do the same thing, and it’s hard to do that and make sure that people draw the parallels between the two ideas. But I think we did a good job.”
In order to appeal to her younger fans, she’s taking the less is more approach. “We want to make sure that it’s played on BET and other video outlets,” she explains. “And Young Money has a young fan base, so everybody’s not grown. So I don’t want to be one of those artists that just puts stuff out there that’s too raunchy.”
She worked closely with director Colin Tilley (Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige) to develop the concept. “I’m very involved in everything I do and when it came to putting the video together, he didn’t get offended or act like I’m too big of a director to work with the artist. He actually sat down with me and went over the ideas, and we came up with some good stuff together.”
The video for “My Button” will premiere in early July before Shanell hits the road with Lil Wayne on the second leg of his “I Am Still Music” tour starting July 13.

Ciara Performs At Paris Las Vegas Hotel + Jordin Sparks Rocks The Crowd At New Kids Concert

Ciara and her sick body hit up the Chateau Nightclub & Gardens at Paris Las Vegas recently. We have pics of her envious abs plus Jordin Sparks on tour opening up for the New Kids on the Block/ Backstreet Boys Concert inside..
Ciara made an appearance at the Chateau Nightclub & Gardens at Paris Las Vegas last night. CiCi was straight off her safari trip in South Africa when she returned to the states to perform.
She wore skinny jeans with a crop top and cropped leather jacket to match and accesorized with her studded Christian Louboutin pumps.
She teased the photogs with her lollipop in her hand.
Pretty.
She performed some of her songs for the packed nightclub.
CiCi worked up a sweat for the crowd and looked amazing while doing so.

Newly svelte singer Jordin Sparks rocked the crowd in a flirty purple getup.
Jordin opened for New Kids On The Block.

Rap-Up TV: Game Talks Second Single & Nelly Furtado Collaboration

Game has no shortage of star power on his R.E.D. Album (Aug. 23). His long list of collaborators includes Lil Wayne, Pharrell, Lupe Fiasco, Wiz Khalifa, Drake, Dr. Dre (“Dead People”), and Tyler, the Creator (“Martians vs. Goblins”). For his second single, the Lux Luger-produced “Bottles and Rockin’ J’s,” he’s recruited hip-hop heavyweights Busta Rhymes, Lil Wayne, Fabolous, and Rick Ross.
In addition, The Neptunes produced a reflective record with Nelly Furtado called “Mother Knows.” “It’s just a walk through a time period in my life when I was young and my mom was trying to instill all these values in me and I was just a rebel and going against everything she said,” he tells Rap-Up TV. “Nelly Furtado comes singing on the hook sort of like Janet Jackson-ish.”

BUSTED: Faizon Love Jailed For Domestic Violence

Comedian Faizon Love was arrested and jailed yesterday for domestic violence. Deets inside….
According to TMZ, funnyman Faizon Love, who starred in BIG MOMMAS: LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON with Martin Lawrence, was jailed Friday morning regarding a domestic violence dispute. And although the arrest report says he was charged with fourth degree domestic assault (the lowest DV charge there is) he was denied bail. .
Because Faizon was already on probation for assault, it could explain why he was denied bail.

After sporting the white New Balance MT580 “Spy vs. Spy” yesterday, Distinct Life’s Rick Williams returns with the black New Balance MT580 “Spy vs. Spy”. Much like yesterday’s weapon of choice, this shoe is also inspired by the “Spy vs. Spy” comic book characters. Obviously, this pair is mainly influenced by the black spy considering its primarily black textured upper and red attributes, specifically on the tongue, toe area, sole and heel.
