Since its on-court debut in 1997, the Nike Air Foamposite One (Foam One) has turned heads while steadily evolving into a staple of lifestyle footwear. The design’s revolutionary one-piece upper marked a dramatic shift in material choice and aesthetic direction. Early designs of the Foam One showcased primarily solid color-blocking though recent renditions have featured stand-out graphic prints. The latest Foam One takes it back to the basics – with a slight twist.
These Air Foamposite Ones subtly draw from the iconic print featured on the Air Tech Challenge IV. A metallic silver upper is adorned with a tonal print, identical to the one oft-displayed on court in the early ’90s. To break the otherwise tonal design, pops of Volt accent the sole, Swoosh, and tongue and reflective elements are found in the collar mesh. Just like the ATC IV did, the latest Foam One modernizes retro style for lifelong sneakerheads and new age enthusiasts alike.

To the delight of many, the 20h anniversary celebration of the adidas Mutombo extends for the release of this classic blue and white colorway. The Nike LeBron 11 “Summit Lake Hornets” pays homage to the AAU team where LeBron James honed his basketball skills on his way up through the youth ranks. While LBJ is gone from Ohio, there’s no shortage of LeBron sneakers that still connect with his home turf. The “Summit Lake Hornets” takes the theme quite literally with a blue and purple beehive-like hexagonal print across the upper. The most nostable detail as far as the theme is concerned is the honeycomb overlay that falls between the cracks of the Hyperposite pieces.

The Kobe 9 Elite has certainly made a splash since it’s debut last month, with the release of the “Masterpiece” and “Inspiration” colorways. Next up, dropping this weekend, is the Neon Turquoise/Volt colorway dubbed “Perspective.” The Kobe 9 Elite “Perspective” is inspired by the blue period, a three year-stretch (1901-1904) of artistic brilliance by the Spanish cubist painter, whose artwork during this time featured shades of blue and blue-green. Just like the Spanish master, Bryant brings a similar beauty to his game. This Spaniard showed versatility beyond painting with his sculpting, ceramics and printmaking and he serves as the guiding inspiration to this Kobe 9 Elite ‘Perspective’ colorway. Turquoise upper is infused with Volt pops and a graphic on the side of the shoe, accentuating the Flyknit and Carbon Fiber.
The Nike Kobe 9 Elite “Perspective” will be available at Foot Locker, House of Hoops by Foot Locker and Footlocker.com (starting at 8:00 a.m. EST) on Saturday, March 8th for $ 225. Grade school kids sizes will also be available. Check the Launch Locator to see which stores will have this release.
