Drake, Big Sean, & The Weeknd Celebrate Kylie Jenner’s Sweet 16

Drake, Scott Disick, Tyga, and Big Sean

Hip-hop’s biggest stars came out to celebrate with Kylie Jenner as she turned 16. Kim Kardashian’s little sis threw an Alice in Wonderland-themed bash at AT&T Center in downtown L.A. on Saturday night. The star-studded guest list included Drake, Big Sean, The Weeknd, Naya Rivera, Tyga, Scott Disick, and Willow and Jaden Smith.

Kanye wasn’t able to make it because he was in Oklahoma City attending his grandfather’s funeral. But he organized a surprise from Drake and Big Sean, who performed “All Me,” while Drizzy planted a kiss on the birthday girl’s cheek.

“Thank you Drake AKA @champagnepapi @bigsean for the surprise performances!! #loveyoukanye,” wrote Kylie’s mother Kris Jenner.

The whole family got together on Sunday and celebrated at a private dinner. One of Kylie’s friends sang “Hold On, We’re Going Home” at the dining table as Drake and Kanye looked on.

Check out photos and footage from the Sweet 16 festivities.

B.o.B – “Missing” [LISTEN]

B.o.B has attacked the game from all angles in his latest set of releases. Today, he returns with a new tune called “Missing” that’s another far departure from the Pop sound that gained him notoriety.

Instead, this track is as politically charged as they come and features the Hustle Gang rapper sharing his opinions on the crooked government.  ”Seems like since we got a Black president, Black people stopped questioning they government/And that ain’t no diss to Barack either, so motherf***er you can miss me with that other sh*t,” spit Bobby Ray.

Mind you, that’s the opening line. From there, the ATLien flexes his natural ability as a MC with each coming bar.

“Missing” will appear on B.o.B’s forthcoming album, Underground Luxury, due out some time this year. Stream the song below.

A$AP Ferg Reacts to Kendrick Lamar’s “King of New York” Claim

Joey Bada$$’s opinion on the matter is already in and now fellow NY resident A$AP Ferg shares a simple statement regarding Kendrick Lamar’s “king of New York” proclamation on “Control.” With his album Trap Lord in stores tomorrow, Ferg conversed with GQ about a variety of topics including his reaction to the aforementioned Kendrick verse as well as the process behind his debut album, the duties of his position as “hood pope,” and his favorite designers at the moment. Check out a couple excerpts from the interview below.

You set out to make a mixtape and then it became an album, right?
A$AP Ferg: Well, the plan was to just work. They were calling it a mixtape at first, but I went into this project with thoughts of making an album. I never put out a demo or mixtape or anything, so this is my first impression to the world. I just wanted it to be great and grand.

As a “hood pope,” what are three lessons you’d give in a sermon?
A$AP Ferg: First, I would tell everybody from my hood that they can do what I did, which is make it out. I would also tell them to be themselves, and to venture off and see other things.

Last week Kendrick called himself the king of New York. What’s your response?
A$AP Ferg: What’s a king to a lord?

Read the whole article over at GQ and pre-order A$AP Ferg’s debut album Trap Lord on iTunes.

Drake And The Weeknd Reunite On ‘Live For’

By Sowmya Krishnamurthy

The Weeknd and Drake reunite for the singer’s new track “Live For” from his upcoming debut Kiss Land  due out on Sept 10. The song celebrates the fast life and fast women that the two men “live for.”

“This the sh–  that I live for/This the sh– that I live for/This the sh– that I live for/It could be what I die for,” The Weeknd sings.

The Weeknd and Drake were thought by many, to be feuding as of late. The OVOXO duo put those rumors to rest with photos of them in the studio and a joint appearance at Drake’s OVO Fest in Toronto earlier this month where they performed “Crew Love.”

The Weeknd spoke to Complex about his relationship with his hometown friend and how not signing with Drake’s OVO Sounds was not a personal diss. “But it makes sense. The thing about Drake is I told him what my decisions were going to be and he was down with it from the beginning,” he explained.

Kiss Land’s official tracklist was released today. Vibe shares that the 10-track offering features songs like “Professional” and “Tears In The Rain.”

Beyoncé Gets Interviewed by 10-Year-Old Kid President

Beyoncé and Kid President

Beyoncé has sat down with Oprah Winfrey and Barbara Walters, but this time, it was a 10-year-old asking her the questions. As part of World Humanitarian Day 2013, the pop icon was interviewed by YouTube sensation Kid President.

“I can’t believe I’m sitting here with the Kid President. I was very excited to meet you today,” said Bey, who is an ambassador for World Humanitarian Day.

Dressed in a suit and tie, the young interviewer asked about her involvement. “I think it’s so important for us to take some time and be unselfish and have compassion because we really can impact the world,” said Bey.

Before ending the interview, Bey asked Kid President for a kiss on the cheek and for the first time, he became bashful.

Joey Bada$$ Responds To Joe Budden Diss, Calls Him “Joe Buttin”

Joe Budden kept his response to  Kendrick Lamar’s ”Control (HOF)” in the same vein as the original. The Slaughterhouse member even attach his opinions to a list of the MCs namedropped in the TDE rapper’s verse and more. This included Joey Bada$$, who recently responded via Twitter.

“F**k all the subliminals, now n***as saying names/Some of these O.G.s, I laugh at/Y’all don’t know me to half-a$$/To me, it’s just one Joey that’s bad-a$$,” spit the New Jersey native. The XXL Freshman scoffed at Budden’s statement in a tweet: “Unphased by joe buttin.”

Personally, we would rather see all rebuttals on wax… from quality MCs only, of course. There’s still no country for struggle rappers around these parts.

Many rappers have added their two cents to the Kendrick Lamar conversation, and we’d bet that a few more are forthcoming. Meek Mill already alluded that he had some bars directed towards the west coast local in the tuck.
