Chris Brown to Shoot ‘Autumn Leaves’ Video with Kendrick Lamar

Chris Brown and Kendrick Lamar

Fresh off the debut of his “Love More” video with Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown is already plotting his next move. The singer has announced plans to shoot a video for his collaboration with Kendrick Lamar.

Described as a “somber ballad,” “Autumn Leaves” will serve as the next release off his upcoming album X. “Directing next video ‘Autumn Leaves’ in Hawaii ft @kendricklamar,” tweeted Breezy, who will be in Honolulu this week to headline Power 104.3′s Power Bash.

“I wanted to—not rattle the hip-hop world, but have people appreciate [that choice] like, ‘I didn’t expect that, but dang, that’s dope,’” he told Rolling Stone. “I picked Kendrick because his subject matter as a lyricist is beyond everybody else’s. There’s a substance to what he says. It’s also fun to experience the ambitions and aspirations of a younger artist who’s just learning how the game works.”

The guest list for X also includes Wiz Khalifa, Kelly Rowland, and Brandy, with production from Polow Da Don, Timbaland, Pharrell, Drumma Boy, and Danja.

He also shared his desire to work with Beyoncé, tweeting a Vine video of her dancing on stage to “Bow Down.” “Beyonce,U might as well go ahead and do this collab. JAY might have a problem wit it but this Piru!” tweeted Brown.

Are you excited to see the video for “Autumn Leaves”? Let us know!

Chick turned heads in a body hugging sleeveless leather dress which she paired with black-and-white with gold embellishment stilettos.  And refrained from bumping the kid fans out the way with that donk.  Not even mad.

Earlier in the day, Serena played table tennis with Iman Shumpert at Madison Square Park for an event sponsored by Delta.  We’re sure Serena practiced a few new tricks as she’s preparing to advance to the Western & Southern Open singles championship for the first time in her career. She’ll play against second-seeded Victoria Azarenka during the finals at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.

Good luck ‘Rena!

Snoop's NCAA Controversy

Rapper Snoop Dogg/Snoop Lion found himself in the middle of an NCAA violations controversy this week. The hip hop star is mentioned in an upcoming book, where it is alleged that Snoop somehow helped recruit former Penn State running back Silas Redd to USC by meeting the player at the airport in a limousine.

“Silas Redd has never met Snoop Dogg, much less received a ride from him in any type of vehicle,” it was reported that an unnamed USC official wrote in a statement regarding the controversy. “USC head coach Lane Kiffin picked up Silas from the airport on his recruiting visit.”

Redd was allowed to transfer after sanctions were dropped on PSU after its much-publicized child molestation scandal involving assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

EXCLUSIVE: Wale Speaks On Contributing Title Track To RG3 Doc

Robert Griffin III was last year’s NFL rookie of the year, quickly establishing himself as one of the NFL’s premier players. Gatorade and NFL films have teamed to create a documentary, RGIII: The Will to Win, about the star quarterback, which will also feature a title track courtesy of MMG rapper Wale called “No Pain No Gain.”

Hip-Hop Wired spoke to Wale about contributing to the documentary. A devout Washington Redskins fans, the decision was easy. “Gatorade and Rob wanted me to be a part of it,” says Wale. “It’s just a no-brainer to me because I’m a big supporter of Rob and everything that he’s been doing and what he stands for, as well as Gatorade.”

Wale added with a laugh, “I played football for twelve years so I know a thing or two about electrolytes, too.”

Before Wale became a rap star he played football at Robert Morris for a couple of years before transferring to Virginia State. A football career didn’t pan out, but considering his last album, The Gifted, debuted at no. 1, he’s doing alright.

The MMG rapper first became familiar with RG3 when he was at Baylor University. “I first became aware of him the year he won the Heisman [2011], the first game of the season they aired it on ESPN. He was killing so bad, I was like Who is this dude? I never in a million years thought [the Redskins] would draft him and it would be on. I always been a fan of dual threat quarterbacks.”

Wale first met RG3 in 2012 the night he got drafted when they both happened to be at the 40/40 Club. “I had the footage on my old iPhone, I was there. That was history for me. The second pick of the NFL draft, the Washington Redskins select… I was there.”

As for “No Pain No Gain,” the song features lyrics like “This is hard work, this is our turf, I’m a carry the city till my arms hurt
I’m a move make and never lose faith I know the easy plays do the hard work.”

“I did my best to speak for him,” says Wale of “No Pain No Gain.” “[RG3] ain’t no rapper, at least I don’t think so; he probably could if he wanted to. If I was telling a story to get inside of Robert’s mind, what would he say? That’s pretty much it.”

Check out the trailer for RGIII: The Will to Win, which airs August 27, on ESPN, below. Also listen to, and download, “No Pain No Gain” below and check out lyrics on the flip.
